Why do you all keep watching this garbage?

This was me near the end of last season and the reason I initially stepped back from watching each and every second. I was just in a foul mood on a regular basis and wasn't able to separate that mood from the other things in my life. I started getting snappy with my wife and my son on game days to the point where my wife noticed it and was calling me out for it. And she was right. The level of frustration and irritation this sht staff and sht team put me in week after week was affecting all of my household relationships. So that's when i decided to take a step back; just wasn't worth it.

I'm sure there will be a few self-righteous individuals who'll have some pompous comments about me not being "mature" enough to manage my emotions or being a poor spouse/father but it's just white noise at this point so don't bother.

So I have to destroy my Saturdays and be pissed off all weekend from watching a poor product on the field in order to qualify to watch the good product when it comes back out?

So you aren’t watching games but still somehow have an opinion about what is happening with the team you don’t watch? Credibility = 0

There's these really cool things called the internet and freedom of speech. It' really cool because anyone can get all information about any game played then they can use their own brain to form opinions and voice those opinions freely.

Im surprised you haven't heard about it.

So what do you win if your a "true" fan vs a "fair weather" fan? Is this a penis thing?

My degree says UF, does that get taken away if you don't watch enough games? What's the threshold beyond that? Must you read every article, every post game show, the replay? How many times?...

We did this after Muschamp remember we had level 7 fans. Lol.

Are we doing it again?

You do realize this is the same garbage for seven straight years, correct? What are you seeing right now that is any different than when Chump took over?

So you don’t form your own opinions, but instead form opinions based off of others’ opinions? That’s just silly. I bet you get most of your news from memes as well.

Plenty of proud Gator alumni don’t watch the games each week for a million different reasons. Doesn’t mean they are less of a Gator than those who watch all the games.

Muschamp cured me of getting pissed off after a loss.

I watch all of our games, but I am checked out emotionally and usually have other things going on. It's basically on in the background.

I agree with the sentiment that the winning feels a lot sweeter when you've endured the losing. I also understand the feeling of not letting college football run your life. If it's impacting your mood, then I get re-evaluating its place among your priorities. I like to watch to be supportive, but if the team comes out like yesterday with no energy and no heart, then I'll easily switch it off. There's still a part of me that enjoys watching GOOD football. Hopefully someday my Gators will do that again

that doesn’t make me a bandwagon fan. That makes me somebody with perspective. If I’m going to take time away from my family to watch a game I want to be entertained.

Not a raving lunatic pissed off at the world.

I’m not sure what other sport to name at UF since we compete at every single one of the others. So no matter what I name, you’ll say “we’re good at that” well guess what? We should be good at football. We have the most fertile recruiting base in the country.

But who's the raving lunatic? I watched the game, got mad, took a nap during the 4th quarter. Got up, had dinner with my wife, watched the LSU - Bama game. Slept well, went to church this morning, had lunch with the wife. I'm checking GC now, plan to get some work done later. No broken bones, holes in wall, etc.

Wait, I did have an extra beer yesterday. That probably counts.

interesting the correlation between the self-righteous posters in here and the posters (until about 3 weeks ago) telling everyone how mac was the guy and not to believe your own eyes. high horse is all they have at this point...

It's tough, but sitting through the tough times makes it all the better when things turn around. If we just show up when the Gators are great we're no better than the stinking Hurricane fans.

Sitting faithfully through 7 years of :kiffin: and then recently deciding to not watch every second now means only showing up when things are good. pumpers got no sunshine left to pump so this is the new pump method... "we're just better fans than you."

Someone should bump the gator fan level thread.

I've asked myself this question a number of times over the past few years and for me it just comes down to the fact that Gator football is something that I care about. I can't really say why. For some reason, I was hooked after my first game (85 Rutgers---an awful tie). It just grew from there during my time in Gainesville and now its just a part of me. I don't get as upset as I did in my younger days, but I still get worked up watching the game, jumped off the sofa in sheer joy watching Franks to Cleveland against Tenn and have been yelling at MacNuss for the better part of the last three years. I'll watch these last three games and focus on those players that show promise for next year and the years to come. Its a lost year, but better things are coming and I'm going to be there to experience all of it, just like I do with everything I care about.

Watching the Gator offense has been like watching paint dry or grass grow since 2010. The overall product is...well, you’d get the same effect by slamming your d!ck in a car door....still I continue to watch....

I can understand why people choose not to watch the games. For Gator fans, watching games has become painful, frustrating, and even embarrassing at times. And when the coach spoke up during his halftime interview, the embarrassment got worse. And some times, the best way for the pain to go away is simply move on to something else. You can always find the score later.

You're not a real fan if you only watch when we're winning. I love College Football, but I would not watch it at all if not for the Florida Gators.

Look over here Dirty. While I was fooled by Chump initially, I was one of the first to say it loud and clear that Mac was not the coach for us. And I still watch the games. And gripe about the product on the field.

So your correlation has at least one negative outlier. That is assuming the correlation even exists not just that someone poured water in your cornflakes.
