I wonder if they are negotiating contracts with assistants. It's one thing to say to Chip can hire whoever he wants. It's another thing when you have to negotiate each assistants salary.

The Chip Kelly rumors have been going on for damn near a week. If it wasn’t him, Kelly would have publicly denied it by now.

I'm confident in the fact that Chip Kelly is going to be our head coach. I think there's no question they WANT it to be announced tomorrow. If it isn't, it's because of a contract snag.
Hi Ox, I'm a lurker that goes all the way back to the GSMB days. Is there anything you can share from your source as to how this all happened? It seems like Kelly as a serious candidate came out of nowhere. I think even your source was saying it wasn't happening and all the focus was on Frost.

I have been posting on /r/floridagators for a long time. The anti-mac crowd showed up midseason and started flaming anyone who posted positive things about pb&j man. The sub has always had a very positive culture.

meh, I posted an article where Noah Brindise was questioning the offense after game three and it got downvoted to oblivion. Anyone who questioned anything about that program got hit hard by all the "positive" posters even when they were trying to have a constructive discussion.

Honestly, go make a thread about how if Foley was our AD still we'd be bargain hunting for a MAC level coach on the cheap or mention how Foley refused to upgrade facilities that has put us at a serious disadvantage in the SEC and see how far that gets you on reddit.

oh, and btw, welcome to the board.

Started in earnest Friday night with Franze and a 247 insider saying they had agreed to a deal. Then on Sunday two different sources came out with the $4.5M/6yr deal. All week it's been about the finer points of the deal. First booster obligations, facility promises. Several more sources claim a deal is done. Then last night ox's source says it's a go. Now we are talking about vetting assistants and tracking the plane.

Welcome aboard!

That's true, at first we were told it was no Mullen and no Kelly. That was probably true at the beginning. From what I understand Kelly likely wasn't the top target - in fact, it was implied that they didn't think he was even interested in the job, at least at first.
