To me the rumors are fun and entertaining. Some turn out true, some are BS, but people enjoy them which is why there are millions of Gator fans on message boards right now.
It is like watching stock car racing to see spectacular crashes. Going round in circles is boring to watch.

And all it takes for you guys to get triggered and start foaming at the mouth is for someone to mention his name. Someone could say Foley has been threatening to kill Scott Stricklin's dog with a meat grinder if he hires Chip Kelly and I swear half of you would believe it.

He made a couple bad football hires while he built the best athletic program in the country. Get over it.

Three bad football hires and may be responsible for the not getting the greatest coach since Steve Spurrier because of his refusal to upgrade facilities.

I just listened to Doofey's podcast with special guest James Bates....and he said EXACTLY word for word what I have been saying all along, his number one choice is Charlie Strong. Bates goes on to say that he has been a CEO before, knows Florida and especially SoFla in recruiting and that he is "one of us" and gets Gator Nation. I am in the waayyyy minority here but I have said all along, Charlie is my number one candidate. I think Kelly would be a good hire. Frost also a good hire. Strong will bring a Gator culture back to the program that neither of them I believe will bring....IMO.
I like Charlie, too, but if he gets hired stick around to watch the Chernobyl-esque meltdown on this board. it will be gruesome

Well it’s a good thing you’re just a nobody without any influence then.

For the record, Sas, it was three bad hires, not a couple. Couple that with overseeing the serious falling behind on facilities, which is a major head scratcher given our financial condition.

What Foley did good with the peripheral sports is irrefutable. What he did good for football, which remains king on campus, is highly disputable.

Charlie Strong will forever be a great Gator. That said, he had his shot as a HC at a top 5 job and he failed miserably.

Charlie would be an awful candidate and the school would lose millions during the revolt that happens. We are in this situation because we hired a defensive coach who **** on our offense. Then we hired an offensive coach that didn't know how to coach and clean up the offensive cess pool the D guy left. The only way to get back to prominence is to hire the best offensive mind imaginable who will get top of the line recruits by name only. Strong is not an option if we are to have a football program in 5 years

I'm remain unconvinced Strong can't be a good D1 coach, but it's moot here. Kelly is the obvious #1 followed by Frost.

Entertaining for sure... and it gives an outlet for all of our pent up anxiety over the whole thing... I know I personally do not want to ever go through a season like this again...

Yep. I like rooting for Charlie elsewhere. I do NOT want him as the head football coach at the University of Florida.

I have no issue with Strong, but I don't see him at the top of the list.
