We have recruiters and can hire a handful more after we flush some of the terrible crap on the current staff. No reason to destroy half the next decade too with another shyt hire.
Just keep the interim tag on someone and keep hunting next year if necessary.

I posted this weeks ago, but my understanding is Frost isn’t interested in the UF job. If we don’t land Kelly I hope we look at Norvell and Campbell.

Campbell's absurd buyout of $9M is waaaay too high, and I don't think Stricklin will pay it.

Having a "long-term" interim HC will destroy recruiting. Committing, playing for UF will become a joke. We've got to make even a guess on a real HC and go from there. Jeez, we made a foolish guess on McElwain and he was able to get this last top recruiting class.?
With the Gator-public creating the certainty that Chip Kelly is so far above other HCs, if we miss on Kelly how many disappointed 2018 recruits will sign with a more stable school. Or, as an even bigger backfire, Kelly signs elsewhere and many of our recruits go with Kelly, whom they were taught by us is by far the greatest coach out there??
I wish we had let this HC-search unfold at the quiet pace, Stricklin's pace, culminating in the last week of Nov. Our fan-PR should have evenly praised several possible HCs, so any of those leaders could be touted to recruits with full confidence and pride, once he was selected. Now, won't we be seen as bogus trying to talk up the non-Kelly choice?

No it doesnt. Recruiting has increased since Fatazz was fired and it will be top 3 if we land the right coach.
Hiring another Mr 100 offense (Mullins, Strong, TaggartJusticeWarrior, Campbell) will fvkk it up though.

What would it have hurt Stricklin to issue official statements to tamp out these i-net wildfires? Whatever 'dignity' he thought he was preserving, how is that going to compare to the indignity of announcing, "I got us this coach. I know he's not Chip Kelly, but he's the best we could do." This is where he's not controlled the narrative. So now he's let the "blabbery pirates" sailing the internet blow stormy seas for the rest of UF's journey. Adrift in our current 'tub', I don't think Stricklin should have remained so passive. This ain't Mississippi State where you're always anchored in safe harbor.

What are you thinking Swonkey? I said a long-term interim coach. Doesn't that "interim" title say "coach not good enough to settle on" but you recruits, year after year, be satisfied with him (long-term interim would be year after year) Our recruits would prefer not to change but one last change. So we hear nothing of it, except a just in case hedge "Alabama visit was great". At NSD, who knows what defectors will want to play for a "real coach" not a "long-term" interim coach.?
