Funny how since things have been seemingly going south that SS has gone totally silent. Mr. Twitter and everything is under control is probably in a bathroom stall on campus somewhere curled up in a fetal position realizing he got punk'd by a basketball school with "no money", and the ugliest uniforms in college football. The guy he should have gone after hard (Scott Frost) may very well go home to Nebraska or stay put @ UCF, play in a New Years Day bowl, decide to build a Bobby Bowden type legacy, and get one hell of a raise from the school with the second largest attendance in the United States (Arizona State being #1).

If you don't think UCF can and would pay SF $5-6M a year to stay, you are fooling yourself. UCF's attendance is 64,000+ students and each one pays a "fee" each semester that goes toward athletic programs, facilities, and coaches. The AD @ UCF was formally the AD of DUKE University and he knows how to grow and manage a D1 program.

Recruits are starting to get restless and having the eyes of the entire college football world focused on you ONLY WORKS IF YOU DELIVER.

The silence is deafening and only growing louder.

We got played, he was always going to UCLA, nothing UF could have done about it.

I'd disagree on your last part. If you’re going to make a public spectacle of things—intentional or not—you better not come out on the losing end. If we were being compared and had no real commitment, we could’ve saved a lot of face. A very public spurning only complicates things as we move on.

How are you defining chance? Next season? Naming another football coach? Getting laid?
Next hire. There is a growing appreciation of how fvkked up our facitities and program when CUSA coaches like Frost or Norvell immediately comment on the facilities being far worse than their current.

Foley has been telling everyone we are fine for decades.

I knew there was some fishy stuff going on from that past Sunday. SS did have a poor demeanor when interviewed that night. He definitely didn’t look happy. Or maybe he wasn’t just shocked there were people there to meet him at the airport?

I think it’s all super weird, and super ridiculous. He SHOULD be the coach of UF. We shouldn’t be hanging by a thread and on pins and needles with him! It’s his doing. He has all the power and that’s crap. Plus I still can’t believe it’s even a debate for him. For anyone with a pulse knows UF is the much mightier football program. This ain’t basketball! Even if it was... We’re better at basketball these days too!

I think if he does as I fear and bolts that he definitely puts us in an awkward position with Frost, but I still think if we need to, then we can amend that situation.

Yes. We flew up there on Sunday with a full contingent, President in tow, and were jilted at the jukebox.
Somebody set him/them/us up for humiliation and failure.

What if he just much rather live in LA than Gainesville and no matter how appealing our offer is, nothing can change that? Did we still blow it?
Yes, you can't jump in the bird, take the president and the contracting people until you have the deal done. You can't have your next hire looking like your second pick.

You're confusing me. The facilities are on Foley's dime.

When did Norvell & Frost say that? They didn’t

The second I read linda Tealer was on that plane I knew we were screwed. Maybe it's for the best, I'm sure she also gave him the deed to the swamp the IPF and the all in one we haven't even built yet in that con tract.

As the AD of a major program, you simply don’t, and can’t allow that to happen.

There’s a reason we didn’t make a run at Belichik or Saban.

I know I was in the minority here, but I was not encouraged by Stricklin’s demeanor and choice of words and the airport Sunday night. Looking like my suspicion was correct.

If in fact we created some backout clause and delayed execution to keep from hurting feelings, we are more screwed than I ever imagined. In any event, at this stage, if it’s not Kelly, egg on SS’s face is an understatement.

Don't know if you watched the whole thing live but he didn't look anything like a guy who just got left at the alter. More like the cat that ate the canary.
