If we lose, or have lost Kelly, one good thing has come out of this search, the facilities problem has been driven home. On College Football today, the panelist ranked UF the worst of the three SEC jobs: UF, TAMU, Tennessee. Talked a bit about how facilities and how they effect recruiting. Lack of facilities is presented as lack of commitment.

Even with the best facilities you may have cultural and political problems that inhibit the status of the position of HBC....the UAA has some responsibility to enable the coach to succeed. And succeed from day one. mac's implication was he was promised and the delivery by the UAA was absent. He was still a shyte coach, but the stigma of begging for facilities remains and wafts through the program. Any potential new coach should question the negotiated promises. IMO!

I still want Chip

FWIW Doug Gotlieb called UCLA one of the worst jobs in college football today on the Herd. Not saying it means anything but was interesting

You live in a strangely optimistic fantasy world. I envy that but am stuck here in reality.

Please tell me you are just joking about Frost for 5 million. Frost is the consensus only other home-run hire in the hottest market in college coaching search history, a market where just in the SEC you have UF, Tenn, aTm all looking to throw 10's of millions at the right hire.

But in your mind Frost will be honored to be low-balled by UF at 5 million a year because 78 doesn't think he's worth more?

Nebraska has already offered him over 6 million according to reports. Tennessee will offer him 6.5 million without batting an eye once they see where this is heading.

We need to make a full court press at Frost and that isn't 5 million a year.

But it's looking more likely that Swonky's idea of just admitting defeat and going forward with Randy Shannon might be our destiny. If that happens the recruiting class is going to fall in the crapper and I will have finally capitulated and given up hope. I won't watch that sh*tshow.
Nebraska-Tennessee can have him for 6-6.5M. That would make him the fourth highest paid coach in college football with less than two years' experience.

I can't be in that camp.

Over all this bs with Kelly, either come out and say your a Gator or move the **** on. I feel like im being forced to watch the bachelorette and it's the final rose episode and he's just dragging it out

Dude, you seem to know a little too much about the show to have been "forced" to watch it....;)

I’d throw more into performance based incentives.

As I look back I am sure our recent ineptitude is solely due to gonzo not keeping Dunlap from getting in that car... we jumped the shark that night.

We've been snake bit ever since

On one hand, I can see Chip going to UCLA because familiar conference to him

On the other hand he may want to prove himself in the best conference

On the other hand, UCLA has no history and he can build the program and become a legend there all to himself

On the other hand he can be part of a great program and rebuild a power which is always fun.

On the other hand he gets to live in LA, bright lights, big city, Westwood is nice

On the other hand, money goes further in Florida

On the other hand :suicide:

Supply and demand plus the mythical "potential".
If you get the next Urban Myer (two titles in 3 years) or the next Saben (too many annoying titles to mention) then getting the 4th highest paid coach is not an issue.
That aside you also get what you pay for....went cheap with Zook, went cheap with Muschamp, went cheap with McElwain....and honestly has been cheap with Facility upgrades....anyone sensing a pattern here?

No. Sorry. I'm not good at pattern games.

Kinda what I said above... the stigma of over promising and under delivering on facilities has been a constant.... at least Mac convince the to get a full sized IPF... they were planning something like 70 yds
