So what? Mark Helfrich was OC for Kelly, and was good the first two years until he ran out of Kelly's players. We know nothing about Norvell's ability to put out dumpster fires or even sustain success.

Matt Campbell won’t happen. 100% won’t happen. Not saying he’s a bad coach... But 9 million for a buyout is ridiculous. And he’s not worth it.

Yeah, I understand that view. It's a lot, and allegedly why UT backed off him.

He's definitely not my first choice, but I'd rather pony up for a demonstrated winner than take a flyer on an unproven bargain bin coach.

He doesn’t know. He’s just replying in general. I’d say the odds are stacked against us. Openly and publicly we sought chip Kelly and clearly told Frost he was number 2. Nebraska has never waivered. He’s always been their #1. Plus... He’s their equivalent to our Tebow. I think it would be a miracle if we got him to come to UF.
I generally agree with this except they are viewing him as their Spurrier, not Tebow.

@DerekJTyson: Memphis scored 49 in the first half. Stricklin should hire Norvell at halftime.

Young up and comer with offensive focus. Already did a few things at Memphis that had never been done, so I'm sure he would be smart enough to know he has to have a great defensive staff to survive in the SEC.

*for disclosure purpose, I'll also throw in he has a beautiful Spanish wife. Always a plus in my book.

On College GameDay, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said he'd be "shocked" if UCF HC Scott Frost didn't end up at Florida.

For what it's worth, his explanation sounded more like a personal opinion than reporting. "Remember that Scott Frost working with Chip Kelly, and that offense that he’s running right now, can you image that in Gainesville or wherever he might end up, because it’s very similar," Herbstreit said. He talked about Frost's tenure at Oregon and concluded with this: "I would be shocked if he didn’t end up in Gainesville personally." To add some credibility to this, FootballScoop reported on Friday that Florida officials "feel very confident in their ability to secure Frost as their next head coach." But don't consider this a done deal just yet. Lars Anderson of Bleacher Report reported last night that "Scott Frost to Nebraska is a done deal." Frost is a Nebraska alum

So it's come to this then.

@DerekJTyson: Yep. Think he’d do well. Non-smart people look at his overall record and don’t like him. He turned around two train wreck programs, WKU and USF in a short period of time. Would kill it in recruiting and have a heck of a staff.

Did he not just get his starting qb back last week? I thought he had been hurt the whole season?

Look, Im going to be surprised if we land Frost but Incould write for BR. You could write for BR. Literally anyone can write for BR. They are reports written by fans, you know people in the bleachers.

I saw someone mentioning Taggart taking over two dumpster fire programs, and that being the reason for his poor overall record. With WKU, fair enough.

But USF was 8-5, 5-7 and 3-9 in the 3 seasons leading up to his hiring. He led them to 2-10, 4-8, and 8-5 in his 3 seasons. Winning 11 games once in year 4 doesn't erase that. Anyone spinning that into something other than average is fooling themselves and clearly has no desire to see UF win anything of consequence in the near future.

So if we had to put odds on us getting Frost what % would you give us?

I wouldn’t be surprised if we aren’t beating on his front door right now. “Please, we just wanna talk!”
