If this buzz about Taggart is true we need to go ahead and act so he.
Taggart is shyt. Even if you remove his first year, like all the Social Justice Warriors demand, he STILL has a .500 record and ONE season, ONE SEASON in which he managed more than 7 wins.

Just because black people, mostly from Miami, on twitter think he is good and Oregon is more than happy to get rid of him and waive his buyout doesnt mean he is even close to being considered.

In his defense, he is like on his 3rd qb

We can't change anything about the past.......we are in need of talent and numbers.....the question is who can recruit that to come to UF.....at this point I don't see why anyone continues to blame Foley, he's gone and we need to think about the future...all I'm saying is I think Strong, Taggert and Frost all are great choices if you consider their entire careers and not just the last year or two

We have to change the past. That is the point. The only coach on the board that has a personality to get some juices flowing is Frost, in my opinion. Norvell is a great hire offensively but isn't bringing any 'it' factor to create buzz and is not going to be worth the $ based on how many positions are open and all the $ we need to spend elsewhere. I dont see recruits lining up to come to UF because Norvell is the new coach. Taggart would be a great hire recruiting wise but isn't his buyout way too much (though O may want him gone ... who knows)? That leaves Strong. He is a good hire, even if many here don't like the idea of it. He would be the best bang for the $ if real thought is put into it. More money could go to assistants (which is a part many dont think about how important that is) as well as updating the facilities and making UF more desirable to future coaches and recruits.

Bottom line ... beyond Frost, just don't see any hire really worth the money we will have to pay to get them due to all the open positions.

I like Strong, I just really don't think he should be our guy.

... yet.

When we whiff on Frost and Norvell ... Strong will look much better. But he might already be hired by another program by then. I kinda agree with you though and feel bad for saying what I am saying because it sounds so 'Foley' ... but we swung for the fences and just struck out. Our next move needs to be very methodical and calculated.

Man it's going to be a **** show if we miss on frost and norvel. The best we can hope for then is sumlin, which is pretty embarrassing.

There are a lot of reasons why I think Frost will end up here, and here's yet another.

He was made second fiddle to Kelly, and he even deferred to it in interviews. By being the clear #2, it takes a lot of the messiah pressure that might have otherwise built up. He'll be expected to produce, but not at quite the same level of absurdity as had he been the #1 all along.

You have one level of expectation for Kelly, another for Frost.

Don't think that's not lost on him.

If that is part of his thought process ... I don't want him. That is the thought process of preparing for failure.

This whole situation is pretty damn depressing, including the game today. If Strickland loses another guy to "continued productive conversations", then my 11 year old boy might be cheering for another team next year, and I might actually be a productive husband on Saturdays. 8 years is a long ass time to sit and wait, hoping each game will be different than the one the previous week....so help me baby Jesus...if we don't have a coach within the next two weeks then I'm out.

No it isn't. It's being mentally prepared for the stress. You're assuming this is an easy gig if you simply assume you're gonna win. It's not.

Yeah ... it is. It is preparing for failure ... not stress. You prepare for stress other ways. Personally, if I was a hot shot young coach about to make the step to the big league, I would probably pass on UF. I know that is going to make people angry ... but ... going down a list of there aren't a lot of check marks.

1. Location? Great ... perfect. And already has relationships established.
2. Current talent and depth? No. And it will probably be worse next year when we lose some of our DL.
3. Facilities? No. Behind all the other programs he is competing against.
4. Booster/$ support? Yes. Potential is obviously there but would have to get answers before signing

I am sure there is more ... but honestly, timing is everything and that guy could come into UF being the shiznitch and leave in 3 years a failure. Our program isn't one coaching hire away from being great. We are getting to the point of being a overhaul. Our roster is depleted on both sides and losing as been instilled into the current players. Step back and objectively look at it. We are so much more than just a head coaching hire away.

I couldn't have rebutted your post any better. Thanks for the leg work.
