Reading this thread has made my night a lot better.

Have the fans planned a riot yet?

If he sucks then we will be miserable for another 3 years. If he does great then he will bolt for Bama when Saban retires in 3 years.
I'm stoked !

The UT fans are pretending they just made the hire of the century.

He’s an awful choice like the last two, but I’m still disappointed that the fan base won’t hate the choice as much as I had hoped.

You do understand Ox, that the Vol masses pretending Pruitt is the hire of the century and you proclaiming he is an awful choice are as equally subjective and hold no true data to support either case.

Of course the reactions are subjective, since they are based on zero results. Perhaps Jeremy Pruitt will turn out to be a great head coach, but there is no evidence to support this. Shouldn't Tennessee be able to attract a head coach with a winning resume? And before anyone should shoot down Dan Mullen, take a closer look at what he did at Mississippi State. Maybe he will succeed or maybe he will fail, but--if you want to be objective--he is a FAR better hire than Jeremy Pruitt. The UF program has obviously suffered and may be in shambles, but not even close to the level of Tennessee. The fact that they cannot attract a decent head coach says a lot....and nothing subjective about that.

If you ask 100 UT fans right now if Pruitt or Mullen would be a better hire at UT, 80 of them would say Pruitt, primarily because it's wishful thinking. Now, if you asked them BEFORE Mullen was hired at UF, 98 of them would have said Mullen.

Painting the sky orange because that's the color of their glasses. Pruitt's a good hire for schools like Indiana, Arizona State, Rutgers, Virginia, or North Carolina. Which is exactly what UT's peer group is right now. Unfortunate.

So they hired a guy who wants to stay on at Bama through the playoff in order to help their cross divisional rival win another title?
Do I have that right?

Pruitt is a good coach. The east is going to be harder than I was hoping.

I didn't realize that Pruitt has never been a HC at any level. :scratchhead:
