To be clear, there’s no denying the drop off when PH left. But the other variable that can’t be ignored is that we went from MUllen to Daz.

Lost Louis Murphy, too. Cooper became the deep threat and racked up big stats but no one really stepped up to present a complimentary threat. A-Hern had a bigger year, but he didn’t stretch the field.

Also, PH was our #2 rusher behind Tebow in 2008. Demps & Rainey brought speed but not size and not deep-threat receiving.

Even so, most would agree Daz wasn’t as good an OC as Mullen and saw a significant drop off.

Why did this even become a thread. Where did it come from that Fields was back in play. Fields is not in play for anyone but UGA. And I'm not trying to be negative it just gets old seeing crap like this when we have a talented Qb already committed that wants to be a Gator yet everyone get all excited about another player for no reason it's not like Fields personally said now that Mullen is there I'm going to look at UF again. Same goes for all the Grier love every week he's no longer a Gator move on and support the players on the team now and stop praising the ones not here.

You've got to remember, these kids aren't Gators until they sign that LOI. Corral never was a Gator, not for 5 seconds - and he's now committed to a school on probation that is currently being gutted because there is some kind of issue with him and it's the best he can do.

I think Fields is absolutely still in play, especially with Corral gone.

Well dang this just puts a twist in the old nut sack. I was more or less hoping that Corral would help us land other recruits. I sure hope Mullen has something up his sleeve.

I’m not getting back into this Fields thing

Recruiting is too fluid and unpredictable to get wrapped up in it IMO

Take my bet then Ox if you think he's absolutely still in play. Come on let's make things interesting.

Fields will be that highly rated QB that commits and then transfers in two years because he stuck to a decision that wasn't in his best interest. If he's as good in college as he is in HS then I guess it's nice we will only have to face him like one time in his career if he stays at UGA.

Question how many in home visits do you get with a kid because it seems they were there earlier this week as well. I thought you only had so many

Someone said in the other thread that he deleted his tweet about committing to UGA or something....is that true?

I am with you on this. I particularly think kids who make more sense at UF are in play. Fields with this offense and UGa's offense and QB depth chart would be smarter to go to UF. Now maybe his heart is at UGa and the heart wins sometimes, but this is a business decision and UF is a better decision than UGa and maybe his best decision overall.

He's 1 injury away from possibly stealing the starting job just like Fromm did...and we'll see how good Fromm really is next year when he doesn't have 2 stud future NFL running backs and a Sr. laden team taking the pressure off of him.
