I'm not surprised. He was Macs guy, and wants the NFL money. Hard to blame him, but yeah early kickers rarely work out.

He was faithful to Mac and not UF, so I'm not surprised by this.
Why would he stay for another UF off season when NFL millions beckon?

To be honest, Eddy is the first one of this year’s early draft entries that saddens me. For the life of me I have no explanation why a kicker leaving early bothers me. I do wish him the best though!

I hope if he declares he does not get an agent, so he could return. I was very concerned by his short kick offs, I never could figure out why with his leg that would ever happen.

Millions, eh?

He won't be drafted but should get a tryout as an UDFA. That Auburn kicker is better and will get drafted. Needless to say, it's very difficult to crack the 32 kicker jobs available in the world. Chances are quite good you'll be seeing him in an apron at your local Home Depot within 2 years. Hopefully he can "feed his family" on $9/hour.

Shannon said Eddy made the decision to kick short on his own. He went the first 8 or 9 games without giving up a single kick return because they all went through the end zone. Kicking short still isn't a bad strategy. If you have a good enough coverage unit and a kicker who can kick it high and land it between the 5 and goal line, you'll pin the return team inside the 20. Some say it's a better strategy than automatically giving the other team the ball at the 25.

TL;DR - Eddy kicked it through the end zone about 95% of the time, apparently you weren't paying attention.

I thought that was just basketball for some reason.

The kid has a crazy good leg and accuracy to boot. He set records here. That's meaningful. He didn't just venture like this blind. He has good reason to think he'll get an NFL job.

Again, it’s going to be damn hard for him to get a job. I know he’s a relative of yours, so count on him borrowing money soon.

Best of luck Pinero. May you be reunited with your long lost pal, Mac, someday.
