Interesting read. So everyone on the board were pumpers before they became dumpers? Put another way, the only difference between Mac's pumpers and his dumpers is the date at which the flip occurred.
don't be dense. The sec used to be the best, it's not anymore. When it was good we talked about it, then it got bad, and some of us acknowledge it. It's simple fact, pumping has nothing to do with it.

Why wouldn't people try to be optimistic about a coaching hire? I know that I tried to be with McElwain. I am similarly trying to be optimistic with Mullen.

Having 2 teams in the top 4 means it's still the best. It's just really top heavy now.

As I remember me :what:, all I know is that the sports media kept tabs as the SEC teams "win" the National Champs like 7 years in a row. In the articles, the media "declared" that the SEC was the dominant conference, "the best". ?? During this time, I often read the top 10 rankings and they usually had more than 5 SEC teams in the Top 10.

Your post, while relevant yo the thread theme, is totally irrelevant to my post.

Exactly! So people who try hard to be optimistic are pumpers and people who give up easily, lacking fortitude, are dumpers. I am starting to get the hang of this.

Having 2 teams in the playoff means the other teams kick up a notch in their matchups. It could have been Bama vs. ND, AU vs. Mich, LSU vs. UCF. That’s significant.

I watched most of A&M’s game. They could have and should have won despite the coaching change. Kentucky decided to go for 2 at the end of the game rather than go for OT. Big deal.

Now you have MSU without their coach or their QB facing Lamar Jackson, SC vs. Mich and both are underdogs by a TD.

LSU, UGA & Bama are all slight favorites. Only AU is a big favorite but they better show up. UCF is capable of doing to them what Houston did to F$U if AU doesn’t take them seriously. If AU plays hard they should crush them badly. UCF has about 2 players on defense and I doubt their OL can handle AU’s DL.

The upper echelon of 4 to 6 teams are mediocre. The rest are awful. It is a league of boring defensive coordinators pretending to be head coaches.

I meant an upper echelon of 4-6 teams in all of college football. Not the league.

Florida and Tennessee are not playing in a bowl, but Mizzou and Kentucky are. Sure that kind of changes how you feel about bowl season and the SEC. Florida and Tennessee need to start playing better.

It’s entirely possible the only wins the SEC will have this bowl season are Auburn and LSU. Lots of bad matchups.

So people who try hard to be completely oblivious to reality are pumpers and people who understand football and have no trouble recognizing bad or mediocre coaching are dumpers. I am starting to get the hang of this.

The conference doing poorly hurts us in the long run. UGA getting in the playoff is a result of us dominating everyone for the last 10+ years. The yokels that think it's a good thing are clueless.

A couple of things that I think need to be said about this bowl season....F@CK Georgia and everything Georgia related. F@CK Alabama just as hard. Needless to say Boomer Sooner and Go Tigers!
