Likely a preferred walk-on. Film looks real good. Nice speed and agility. Looks like we're solid at LS for the next five years.

This is from OnlyGators:

Ortiz, who will likely join the program as a preferred walk-on, is rated as a five-star prospect and No. 6 player overall at his position per Rubio Long Snapping. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound recruit has spoken with a number of Power Five programs but has made his decision for Florida.

Soon-to-be senior Ryan Farr has played in 38 straight games for Florida since enrolling in 2015 as a preferred walk-on, snapping every field goal, point after touchdown and punt. The Gators also have redshirt junior Jacob Tilghman and redshirt sophomore Brett DioGuardi on the roster, though Ortiz should be expected to beat out both of them in 2019.

Ah long snappers.......the unsung heroes of the team. Kinda like a good life insurance policy....you really don't appreciate their added value until you realize that you don't have a good one

He didn’t touch that chick. Reading the court transcript it is pretty clear Davante Phillps punched that girl in the mouth. The girl picked the wrong player but no surprise the Tally police department didn’t investigate further after Cook was (rightly) found innocent.

All the momentum from the early signing period has died down quite a bit. Was hoping it would have carried over.

Who’s visiting this weekend? We need a couple commits to get the ball rolling. Momentum has stopped.

This is the last list i have seen

WR Justin Watkins
DT Nesta Silvera
DE Caleb Johnson
CB Noah Boykin
DE Caleb Tannor

Of that i would expect some commitments...likely Watkins, Boykin, and maybe one of Johnson or Tannor

It appears Silvera is in his ear.....Miami applying the full court press

If Silvera is in his ear about Miami, then we don't need Silvera on our campus either

The issue I see with our recruiting has been how we lost the state. We have conceded it to Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson so on and so forth. That needs to be addressed ASAP. I will give CDM a pass this class because it’s a transition class, but he has to start keeping the top guys in state. I never thought we would have to fight off out of state schools for guys in our back yard such as losing those two OT from Tampa. Hopefully there is a plan moving forward. If CDM can’t land some of the best in Florida (not including IMG, those kids are not from FL) then we won’t be winning much of anything.

I've been saying this for quite a while. We've especially given up on Jacksonville, which produces a dozen 4-star or higher players every year (roughly). There's been a 5-star come out of Jacksonville each of the last 4 years to sign out of state (Ohio State, UGA, Alabama). What Butters did in the state is a disgrace. He hired Randy Shannon and a bunch of south Florida guys to find him 2-star and low 3-star diamonds-in-the-rough instead of going head to head for the best players in the state. If we can sign 10-12 of the top 60 players in state (w/ the bulk being in the top 30) we'll be back to being "Florida" instead of UCF-light.

We have a shot at landing that entire list except for Silvera. I think Johnson commits this weekend.

Tennessee already does. Whatever Pruitt is selling the recruits are buying. If we don't have a splash, UT will definitely have a better class....which will give them a better class in 4 of the last 5 years (I think). We have no clue how Pruitt will do, but I'll bet he's a better coach than Butch was....and he's likely better than Muschamp (and a few other Saban-tree coaches). We need to win that game in September!

They only do because they have more kids. We have a higher star average and the third highest in the conference behind georgia and bama. Get NPF, watkins and a few others and that rating goes up.

I think he was a UF lean for a brief period during the Corral buzz. He needs to get on campus hang with his American Heritage teammates and get a feel for UF.

UT has recovered nicely from their coaching hire debacle. Definitely trending up in recruiting.

Mehhhh.... was looking at their class and saw nothing interesting.

He might steal a defensive recruiter to from Alabama because of his pre-existing relationships with them.
