Taggart is starting to remind me a lot of Buttersnatch. Can’t close out a coaching staff, lame azz tweets, in WAY over his head...

Butters couldn't be the mustard-stain on Taggart's jock strap ... wait, or is it Taggart couldn't muster McElstain's jockstrap?

Funny you say that...look at this gem!

Oh sweet dancing Moses this is going to be a magical time to hate the clowns. Drink this to the lees brothers; for once he is fired (or leaves for another school) we may never see his like again.

Soon to come from Willie T (courtesy of The Sphinx from "Mystery Men"):

"To learn my teachings, I must first teach you how to learn."

"He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions."

"When you care what is outside, what is inside cares for you."

"You must lash out with every limb, like the octopus who plays the drums."

"You must be like wolf pack, not six-pack."

And, of course, the ever-popular "When you can balance a tack hammer on your head, you will head off your foes with a balanced attack."

This guy is the football coaching spawn of Jesse Jackson and Dr Seuss. Not sure which is mama.

Totally going to love the next few years. Hope the Semenholes dont catch on too soon but there is already a significant WTF sentiment under the big top.

Unfortunately I doubt he lasts more than 2 seasons. There are a lot of influential boosters/alum who are already calling for changes to be made. Good news is the AD will probably walk with him when he goes, could end up an even bigger disaster than it is now.

The Tallahassee Democrat, in an article this week, labeled Taggart's newly-formed staff as "Dynamic!" The gist regarding how long it took to assemble seemed to be that he was taking his time to vet and make sure he hired the best of the best. My take is that it sounds like...

:bob:

...and a soothing tale to keep the sheep from spooking. I would not be thrilled if our staff looked like his.

This whole thing was initiated by F$U under the label of embracing diversity and, specifically, targeting a minority (whatever that is these days) candidate. This is applaudable as long as you get a guy who is not only a good fit for your school and program, but also is a top-notch ball coach and all that that entails. Personally, I think Taggert fits one criteria and is suspect in the others. If I was in charge and it was imperative to hire a "minority" guy, my list would most likely begin with Charlie Strong based on what I know of his character and experience. To me, Taggart falls short on those two requirements. I am also want to believe that his job-hopping like an IHOP waitress makes him less valuable. That said, I'm glad they got him and I hope he fulfills my great expectations for them.

I saw that article. Their arguments:

1. Their argument for David Kelly being so great was him being a "recruiting monster" when coaching for UCF.
2. The argument for Bell being great is people say so. They bring up the injury bug in 2017 for his offense being so bad. What is the excuse for 2016?
3. Their argument for Snyder? He coaches at a lot of "powerhouse" programs for 2-3 years then moves on. :lol2:
4. 3 coaches are top notch hires because, well, they are all ace recruiters in the same area.

I don't think the staff is awful. I don't think it is good either. I think it is the kind of staff that will keep fsu at 8-4 to 9-3 every season but never win a thing.

Agreed...I wouldn't say awful, yet, either. But certainly not as spectacular as the Tally spin jockeys might imply. I knew David Kelly when he was the HC at Dunwoody GA HS in '93 when he won the 4A state championship (we lost to them in the semi-finals and they were pretty good!). He had a DL and a RB who signed with UGA and he parlayed that into a gig as the Dawgs' RB coach, giving him his collegiate entrance. He was a good HS coach as far as I can recall, but really haven't heard much since he left UGA.
