Gators beat Kentucky at Rupp

Florida is on the road to take on Kentucky at Rupp Arena tonight at 8:15 PM on ESPN. This will probably be our toughest game of the year. Kentucky forces a lot into the pain and can score at will there. We need our players to play as tough as ever without fouling. Down 4 bigs against Kentucky is a really hard disadvantage to overcome. To do so we need to play with heart, intesnity, and play together. We have to make shots, especially 3pters which Kentucky is top 6 in the country at defending. This will come down to our 3pters vs their 2pters. As such we have to rebound well. Have to make between 10-20 3pters to have a shot imo. Taking it to Kentucky in Rupp will be awesome

Obviously this is going to be tough playing at Rupp with Kentucky coming off a loss. They will be extra focused because of that game against USC. The good news is that they are still very young. The bad news is they are long and athletic and that will cause us issues.

This will really come down to us shooting the ball. Hopefully Gak is healthy. If we can get stops on D and run in transition we can win this, but I'm not putting a lot into this game. I'm just counting down the days until we get John back to see how much of a difference that will make on the defensive end.

Let's hope it's close late in the game. Give Cheese and Igor a chance at disappointing Sucktucky . Who knows if Allen continues his hot shooting-- not likely at Rupp. Can't wait for Egbunu to return.

Our toughest SEC contest. They are athletic and average 6'10", we will miss Eggy here most of all. Those long arms are going to make more of our 3's contested. Fast passes around the perimeter, driving and passing out to an open man is a must. GO GATORS!

Egor, Hudson, Allen, Chiozza must hit 3s! When the lumbering UK-talls throw up their long arms to defend, quick-step around the defender to drive in. Use the backboard as that's taking your shot on a line that the defender is not aligned to block. Dig down for some quick first-step moves biggies handle poorly. All ruined of course if the refs call the charging fouls on us.

Predictor gives UK a 62.4% chance to beat UF so we are definitely heavy underdogs compared to a 37.6% chance for us. MOST experts predicting UK to win easily as far as I have seen. We have to hit 10 or more 3s today to have a chance and HOPE that the refs call a fairly even game. Last year we were called for 22 fouls @Rupp while UK only got 13. UF took 6 fts and UK 27 so there was NO WAY to win last year at Rupp. We will see this year. Go Gators!!
