Lulz. Search his name (top right in the link) for him or any QB. That is the page is the one that comes up. Its the stats that QBs get graded on.

Personally, I dont GAF about what kind of running back any QB is. The running backs should be the running backs.

Btw, what happened to the "3000 passing yards per year" thing some were pimping anyway? It disappeared again.

I also call it a RPO offense. There is no pass or pass option in 80% of the plays.

The point I was trying to make, regardless of how poorly I made it, is that compared to ANY of our QB’s in the last decade, Fitzgerald has been the superior player. Not because he’s more talented, it’s that he was better coached.

Hell, I’d guess he personally is responsible for nearly as many points as an individual player than we as an entire team scored on offense.

I’m hopeful our QB & overall play will show great improvement as a result!

Besides constant pessimism, what do you want to share here? You and others are just looking for the opportunity to say... "I told you so" the minute he shows one chink in his armor. What good does that bring? Do you support the Gators or long to be right? JFC, accept him as our coach, or move on.

I have. I am. At some point we have to have hired the right guy, right? It's not like I'm making stuff up about the guy. So I wish he won a few more big games. Who gives a flying f what's said on a message board? Again, let's hope he crushes it. We'll know by next December's early signing class. Go Gators!

No way does he support the Gators. All he does is sit around and bash the team and the staff and fans who have hope that we are moving forward after a decade of ineptitude. Sure Mullen has his flaws and isnt a sexy hire but so far he has done well in recruiting, etc...why don't we give him a chance to coach a few games/year and see from there.

At least Donkey is realistic and heaps praise when it is deserved such as cutting dead weight off the staff and having a pretty good transition class.

Rex just sits at home googling everything he can to try to find a reason to bash the school, team, fans, coaches...it's okay to be realistic, i hate pumpers just as much as the next person but he just takes it to an unbearable level that just screams troll...that or he is just some weird lonely **** that sits at home is so ****ed up inside that he tries to ruin everyone else's hopes

You are completely wrong. I have repeatedly given him praise for his transition class. This is the stupid crap I can't stand. Because I stated Mullen's record vs ranked teams we have people like the above go off the deep end and try to equate stating facts with now I am a serial killer. Grow the F up dude.

Put me on ignore. Keep your personal attacks to yourself. Got it?

You support Captain Sully Sullenberger? Ay me too!

We're all Gators dude. Not sure why you have to go all personal though. It's unnecessary and nowhere close to reality. Just sayin

But I think the difference here is that you at least know Mullen understands how to coach. We're not staring down a 2013 or 2017 type season with someone that we now discover is completely in over their head. If you can win 7-8 games at Msu and in the West, you can win 9-10 here. As I've stated numerous times, he certainly was not my first choice. But I really don't see us having to fire him after just a few years. So in that respect, I think Frost, Norvell or maybe even Kelly may well have carried a greater risk as far as future buyout possibilities.
9 wins is 4 losses and no trip to ATL. If that is what we are hoping Mullen can work up to we are effed.

He says he's here to win chips, says our problems aren't a talent issue, and is setting very high goals for himself, to play for and win championships. Why any of you would hold him to a lower standard than he is setting for himself I don't understand.

And at 6 million a year and whatever the outrageous guaranteed amount is (17 million or something?) I expect him to hold up his end of the bargain. And considering all the returning players next year and all the player losses at the end of 2019 season, is that going the built in excuse for 2019? So we are talking 2020 before we are competitive or will it still take another year of recruiting for him to get "his players" so realistically we can't evaluate him until 2021?

Screw that, he says he is going to play for championships and next year in his view our problems won't be a talent issue, so that only leaves coaching. If he's a coach worth top money prove it.

No, I think you're taking that line the wrong way. I'm not ok with winning 9(regular season) games repeatedly but not progressing to championships. That goes without saying. I personally think he'll end up being better than that if he can effectively bring in talent. But that comment was in reference to Douglas' point about the buyout. I don't think we're going to be in a WM/JM situation where we have to make a move because we missed a bowl and the brand is tanking. I could be wrong, but I don't see that.

To your last point, I would really think we'd all be happy to hear Mullen make no excuses up front, praise the talent that's here, and openly state his expectations. If he pulls it off, then great. But at least we're not hearing about how we have some major recovery that we're embarking on, patience from the fanbase, unrealistic expectations and so on. If he fails, he's left himself no wiggle room for excuses. I personally like that confidence.

Agree, I'm a Mullen fan for the time being because I am impressed with his words and actions since he's been here. But I'm not on board with the folks who are saying 6 wins his first couple years is just fine as long as we are seeing progress. Fuk that, that's a million dollars a win. Even with a very good 2018-2019 class I'm not convinced at all that we won't have a more talented team at least on both LOS this year rather than 2019, so no time like the present for Mullen to deliver on his bravado.

He is crap. 2000 yards is Brantleyrriffic.

I expect some discipline on offense and expect us to look like we actually practiced some prior to the game. That is a drastic change. I have no delusion about us being even average on offense though.

I like the sentiment and understand what Mullen is saying here. It's a shot at the players... man up, no excuses, get to work or gtfo. Again, I like it, very much so.

But let's be real... talent is most definitely an issue, and its a HUGE one. But it's also not something that can be corrected immediately. All he can do is work with what he has and the small number of freshman he signed so lack of ability isn't going to be used as an excuse, and certainly isn't going to be admitted to the players. Still though, lack of talent isn't just a big problem, it is currently the BIGGEST problem we have (after finally jettisoning what was the biggest problem back to big sky country).

Donkey gave me a dislike for saying Rex is his son. Thats funny because fathers are normally proud of their sons.

There may be folks predicting 6 wins....but nobody I can see that is saying it is acceptable. In fact, there is no doubt this board would implode on the way to a 6 win season. Mullen literally has no window with the base. Administration will give him no less than 3 years but the base will go off the rails THIS year if we are not winning.

But one side just keeps saying they are realists. Well realism works both ways. Dan Mullen is not winning the national championship this year. Period. I see a 9-3 regular season with a bowl win. I’ll take that with a top 10 recruiting season for 2019. If they fall short of that I will be disappointed but still on board.

Right now I’m excited for the O&B game and can’t wait for the season to start.

I'm with you. 9-3 plus a bowl win to get to 10 would be a good showing for his first year and help with next years critical recruiting cycle. And we probably can't expect too much more in 2019 since we'll be a younger team. I just don't want to see us scrambling to get a 6th win to make a toilet bowl.
