Vandy killing us to death with screens, yet we don’t switch to zone or make any adjustments. Fun.

I just got home from baseball but already knew the final. I really do not need to read the thread b/c someone was listening at baseball, and when I walked by I heard Bill Koss say the following:" Cheez is trying so hard to get laChance to commit his 5th foul, that he is dribbling and dribbling and the other 4 guys are standing around watching". I guess nothing really changed today. Tough place to win but as you all noted you can't blow a double digit lead in the 2nd half regardless of where the game is played.

I just saw that we have now lost 5,yes FIVE, games this year in which we held a double digit lead at some point in the 2nd half. Two of those games were at home, both to below average teams that are NOT going to the tourney unless they win the SEC tourney. Today was at Vandy, but also a below average team NOT going to the tourney. The other were at neutral sites to teams that will be going dancing both from the ACC. Sure those things can happen, but 5, yes FIVE times? That is not happenstance, that is borderline epidemic! I get it there are no great teams out there and anything can happen and yes Auburn was down 25 today and Mich ST. came back from 27 down on the road and won, etc. But here is the thing. I only care about what we, UF, can control. And sadly we do not seem to be able to control anything, even when it is practically handed to us.

Let me be as clear as I can.....White is not a good coach. The team is losing not because they aren't executing his game plan, but because they are. The league has his number and he is either too stupid or too stubborn to figure it out. You want to know why we have lost 5 games in the second half with double digit leads.......it called adjustments and his got his finger up his azz and there are NO floor leaders that can take command of the situation and save the day.
Once again, another proud program that is now going to hell in a hand basket because of the failure of our admin to find a worth while replacement for legends that put us in a position to have continued success. Penny pinching, more concerned with the womens athletics..........I dont know. But this I do know.....mens basketball and football pay the fking bills and they better get if figured out and damn quick.

Oh you don;t have to convince me diehard, I am on board with your assessment. I have been saying that Mike is an awful half court offensive coach. You are spot on about adjustments. Just as he is unable to make any IN-game adjustments, it seems he is unable to make game to game adjustments.

Middle school BS. They need to let him go if it doesn't break the bank, particularly if we dont make the tourney. Now, if they do that I absolutely think they need to go after Bennett and it aint even close

Well I have to think that Bennett is no longer a realistic candidate, due to his success at UVA. The time to have grabbed Bennett was when he was at Wash. St. Don't think I am saying UVA is a better job than UF, as I think they might be comparable, but there is something to be said for being able to bang heads with UNC and Duke each year and more than hold your own. Secondly, I think Bennett is in a great spot for the type of players he likes. UVA is a great public academic institution, allowing him to recruit good players who can qualify, but also have some academic aptitude. I am not sure that is they type of player that typically looks at UF in numbers. Not that we have a lot of dumb players, but we tend to play very UNintelligently most of the time, and I attribute most of that to Mike. I would love Bennett b/c I think he is the quintessential teacher of the game.
As for realistic names now, we might have to talk about Andy Enfield at USC (formerly at Gulf Coast), Danny Hurley at URI, Gregg Marshall at Wichita, (also had success at Winthrop). I am not endorsing any of these names and I would like to aim higher also if they get aggressive and move Mike out. But knowing how we do business around here, until he is banned from the continental U.S., I have a feeling it will be done the Fooley way!

If we fire White a year after an Elite 8 run, what kind of message does that send to other potential coaches that may come here? Rumors are building that he is going to Ole Miss and our players know that...
