Looking at the names I am not surprised by one Diamond Stone. He did mention that one of the reasons he picked Maryland is because they are an Under Armour school. I thought that sounded like red flags all over it.

I'm thinking the net will be cast over a lot of the obvious suspected offenders (UK, UNC, Duke, Louisville, Nova, Cincy, Michigan State) and others (Arizona under Sean Miller has to be a huge suspect, as well as Auburn with Pearl, Tennessee, Miami, FSU, West Virginia).
Teams I think are relatively clean...us, Virginia, obviously the service academies, and probably the Creightons and ETSUs of the world.
Iffy ones...Rhode Island (Seriously, 15 losses in '15-'16 to 10 losses in '16-17 to 3 this year...and only one in-state player on the roster. Yeah, it's a small state, but there are some good players in the Providence area), Xavier, Gonzaga.

"Schools identified by Yahoo! as having players who possibly violated NCAA rules include Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, USC and Kansas."
"Other teams with current or former players who allegedly received payments were South Carolina, Louisville, Utah, Xavier, Wichita State, Clemson and Alabama."

By the time it's all said and done I still suspect that Nova, Zona, Cincy, and Auburn will be stung.

Nice prediction. I am surprised by some one those names on the list like Utah and Texas (considering how mediocre Texas has been lately).

I am not shocked about South Carolina. When Frank was at K State he plucked some really good talent from south Florida, and don't tell me it's because Frank is from south Florida. It's going to take a lot to convince a kid to leave FL for Manhattan, KS.

With all the crap going down with Auburn and Chuck Person, I can't believe Pearl is still there.

Agreed on USCe...that's one I overlooked in my original post. As for the Barn...they'll turn their heads the other way as long as there's a chance that they can milk a championship (SEC or NCAA) out of this season. History has shown us that. Auburn and Ole Miss are two peas in a pod.

Report: FBI probe into NCAA corruption identifies possible violations by basketball powers

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...n-reveals-basketball-powers-broken-ncaa-rules

Although this appears very damaging, nothing will happen to these schools when all is said and done.

As I type this, the NCAA is driving to Home Depots around the country buying up all the white paint they can find.
We will hear a lot of yapping and a lot of hand wringing but ultimately, these programs will go on as usual

I completely agree. This list is actually too large for the NCAA to take meaningful action without causing financial harm to itself and other member institutions that are not involved. Right or wrong, you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

So it'll be like when a successful politician is caught violating the law ? This cancer spreads.

I agree that with this many high profile schools involved the NCAA will do all they can to minimize the damage. Most likely they will throw more assistant coaches under the bus to protect the high profile guys like Coach K, and maybe even Cal, and Roy Williams. However I just saw a story that Michigan State's Miles Bridges mom has been implicated in receiving a payment. With the current spotlight on MSU with the Larry Nassar abuse charges this could be the end for Tom Izzo.

Maybe Pearl at Auburn since he is a repeat offender. But like most have been saying here, there is too much money at stake for the NCAA to clean house. Plus I don't think the NCAA has the resources or the muscle to come down hard on the high profile schools. It should be interesting.

The NCAA cleaning house may be too much to ask, but couldn't it set in scholarship punishments to bring the Universities to heel. That could open the space for honest schools to reach the top, for a change.

When they reduce the # of scholarships they're just affecting those who would sit on the bench. Since this is about misuse of money, why not reduce the monetary value of every scholarship ? That could affect what/who shows up on the court. Wait, wait : no scholarships for any kid over 6'7" tall. Yeah, that's the ticket. Gotta be devious to fight devious.

Xavier and Wichita State listed in this report. Hopefully that won't follow any of those coaches if they come here to replace Mike White this year...

Could be a great year to be a successful mid-major coach if the NCAA does decide to come down hard on this and head coaches get canned. Unless the mid-major was too successful...in that case they may be on the list.

All I need is for the NCAA to hammer UK, Duke, UNC, FSU, Miami, UT and Bama, and I’ll be good.

Not that I disagree, but I can’t believe they can sweep this under the rug and carry on, business as usual. There may not be mass firings, but I gotta believe there has to be some form of punishment. Suspensions, reduced scholarships, post-season bans, probation, something...................dammit!
