That coach we're going to fire soon, O'Sullivan, is now 25-6 vs. Miami in his UF career. He really needs to step up his game!
He’s lost to them 6 times?!
Fire his ass now!

I am in TallaCrappy this weekend (not by my own choice), so I did not get to see any of Game 1. I saw the final and then browsed the article and was surprised and pleased all things considered. Singer giving up a 3 spot in the 1st was certainly surprising but they threw up a goose egg the rest of the night. Great outing by Mace. I saw him pitch midweek and he has a great arm, but never know with a frosh pitcher. And how about Horvath's bat? guy has hit not at all since he has been here, but has to be the biggest surprise offensively IMO. Other than a HR he hit at USCe 2 years ago, I do not remember him getting a meaningful hit. But it is awesome to see and winning game 1 was was great. I know scotUM sux again this year and starts an all frosh infield, but I saw them with my own 2 eyes last year and there is no way they are as horrendous this year as they were last year, regardless of experience. Let's get Game 2!!!!!

Gators win..8-2. Win series.

Good accomplishment for the first road series, but when you have won the series after the first two games, it becomes all about bring out the BROOMS. Especially when the team has not played great in either game, let's take advantage and use those BROOMS!!!!!!!!!

This team is seriously stacked. Sully has built a monster.

... and hoping a freshman or two "grow" into big contributors. Need some new blood to spray hits & RBIs and to spare our great pitchers from late-season arm fatigue.

Pitching looking strong again and deep as well. Might just have a little more fire power at the plate this year. Nice to see a kid like Blake Reese stepping up, especially with Liput's absence (asking again, what happened there?). Saw Reese in the Babe Ruth league and he was a pretty good player. Also a good HS player, but wasn't sure that would carry over in college at UF. Glad he's developed into a guy who can be an everyday player and contribute at the plate.

This team just needs to stay healthy and focused. I'm sure we'll have the usual baseball slumps and a team or two will have a big day against us, but Sully showed us last year that we could weather those spells and it looked like we grew from them at tournament time. So much for the "never win the big one" tag! Glad to have him. I've about forgotten the Arnold days.

I'd like to "hear" a gatchatter discuss our base-stealing so far. No brag-worthy speedster on board, yet we seem to steal a decent # of times and most importantly at the right time and rarely getting thrown out. There's no bigger downer than a mistake steal attempt removing a potential run off the bases and adding an 'undeserved' out. Last year our stealing seemed to fail more times than succeed?

What a fine-tuned asset it would be for our #1 team to add a superior-to-others success % at stealing, at smart base running. Makes watching the home team extra exciting, extra fun. Go Gators, turn up the reptile dial.

He's suspended indefinitely (this is from November):

Florida Gators junior second baseman Deacon Liput, who started for UF as it won its first national championship last season, has been suspended indefinitely by the program “to take care of some off the field issues,” according to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com.

No additional details are available at this time.

EDIT: here's another story, says he's back w/ the team but will miss an undisclosed number of games:

Staying in the infield, Florida will be without seasoned second baseman Deacon Liput to start the season. Liput was suspended in the offseason for undisclosed reasons, and although he’s back with the team now, O’Sullivan said he’ll miss an undisclosed number of games.

Damn, was hoping for a sweep but Gators go down 2-0. Oh well, “2 out of 3 ain’t bad” especially considering it was on the road in Coral Gables.

Ice cold bats today but an excellent 6 innings by the scrotUM pitcher. Kept our guys off balance all day. Dyson was equally as good and I think he was better today than last Sunday, but a different opponent and no help from the offense. A good experience for some of the young guys to face some real pitching, but really wanted to use those brooms today. Oh well, will have to put those brooms away until the SEC starts, as I don't count sweeps again North Daytona Vermont State Tech Institute for Women as getting out the broom.

What is a guy batting .077 doing in the lineup of the #1 team in the nation?... and his average went further down today.?
