Just an fyi...there are 2,344 high schools in the state. That's 234 per coach. I guess that doesn't seem like that much.

In the populous areas (which is most of the state), you’ll have 10 schools in an 8 mile radius so you can hit them quickly, easily and frequently. For the out of the way schools and the smaller schools without as much talent, you go to the school but just not as often. It’s a good strategy, certainly better than flying to the west coast of the country.

And speaking of recruiting 'gimmicks' (like the satellite camps), there's a story on SEC Country about Alabama taking 14 players from their "leadership council" to IMG Academy for 'lessons on becoming a better leader'. What a joke!!

So there's 14 Alabama football players ON the IMG campus w/ the S&C coach (Scott Cochran) for several days. That's 15 "recruiters" hanging out on IMG's campus. How the F is that legal?

Who’s supplying the weed...the Bama players or the IMG players?

He was the Slump Buster for Stricklin. That old, easy mediocre piece of azz that wouldn't say no to Stricklin.

No Burrows huh?

If Mullen thinks he's got who he needs, then he's intending to get EJ up to speed.

Would not be shocked to see a lightweight version of the Leak/Tebow combo where Trask will try to run primarily out of pass plays while EJ plays the role of TT and comes in to show run with a few pass plays worked in.

Mullen did it in 06, no reason to think he won't repeat the formula now if he's going to let Burrow slide.

If EJ accelerates his development and gets to where he can take the keys at some point before the end of the season I could see Mullen going there. It looks less and less like he'll redshirt EJ.

Mullen knows that year three is the money year. That is the year he is aiming for. Doesn't want to break in a new QB in year three.

Everything I'm hearing is that Mullinz is straight up bromantic over Franks.

It's going to be a long year.

Or maybe it's just coachspeak and wishful thinking.

2018 signees report for Summer A
Four more members of Florida’s 2018 recruiting class have joined the football program.

Top-100 tackle Richard Gouraige (Tampa, Fla.), 4-star defensive end/linebacker Andrew Chatfield (Plantation, Fla.), 4-star linebacker/safety David Reese (Vero Beach, Fla.) and 3-star guard Griffin McDowell (Leesburg, Ga.) reported to campus this weekend for the Summer A semester, which begins Monday.

Chatfield and Gouraige were big additions for first-year coach Dan Mullen and his staff on National Signing Day. Gouraige spurned Clemson and reaffirmed his commitment to Florida, while Chatfield chose the Gators over Florida State and Miami.

Griffin committed to Mullen when he was at Mississippi State and flipped to Florida in late January. Reese pledged to the previous Gators staff and never wavered after Mullen was hired. His brother, Mississippi State offensive lineman Stewart Reese, played for Mullen at MSU.

With their enrollment, 12 of Florida’s 19 signees are now officially Gators. Mullen & Co. welcomed eight early enrollees to campus in January: quarterback Emory Jones, running backs Iverson Clement and Dameon Pierce, offensive linemen Noah Banks and Chris Bleich, defensive backs Amari Burney, Trey Dean and Randy Russell, who was ruled medically ineligible.

Florida’s remaining signees will report to campus in June: top-100 wide receiver Jacob Copeland (Pensacola, Fla.), 4-star tight end Kyle Pitts (Warminster, Pa.), 3-star tight end Dante Lang (Boca Raton, Fla.), 4-star defensive end Malik Langham(Huntsville, Ala.), 4-star athlete Justin Watkins (Clermont, Fla.), 3-star safety John Huggins (Daytona Beach, Fla.) and the nation’s No. 1-ranked kicker, Evan McPherson (Fort Payne, Ala.).

If we can land Pittman and Dunmore we'll be in really good shape at WR (I got this from my buddy Notorious):

Elite 11 Las Vegas Top offensive performer:

Mycah Pittman
Calabasas (Calif.) four-star receiver Mycah Pittman (6-1, 195), had a strong day and showed why he's among the nation's top receivers. He has strong hands and probably does a better job of catching the ball through contact then any other receiver out West. He has improved his speed and overall burst and was able to get deep and made a lot of plays down the field. He has a strong body and is very tough to press or knock off his routes.

I would be happy with Pittman and Dunmore. The video I have seen on Pittman the guy is a beast.

Yes, getting those two to go along w/ Marks (who is a lower rated project, but very fast) gives us a solid class. (cue the "I hope they can block" comments!)

Catching through contact is something our wr's haven't been good at.
