It would have happened if UCLA hadn't scrambled and cleared the deck for Kelly. Our guys, including Dr. Fuchs, were literally on a jet for New Hampshire to seal the deal when the Mora firing came over the wires.

That changed everything.

Yes you did, and we all thought you were nuts. Chip Kelly to Florida? That was a pipe dream.
I had just gotten home and was sitting on my couch when I found out Mullen had been hired. I felt sick. I just sat there starting at the wall for several minutes. My wife said I looked like I saw a ghost. True story.

It felt a LOT like 2002, like falling off the side of a mountain. Stoops, Shannon ... Zook. Kelly, Frost ... Mullen. We're settling for that? Are you flipping kidding me?

Look we all want him to succeed and we have a unique opportunity with clown town hiring a coach who is even worse. But lets get rillz, all of us having the first instinct of burning down the AD's office shows we all know how this is probably going to go.

He needs a GREAT class this fall. This year's record doesnt mean much except that improvement helps the prospects recruiting well.

I guess if he goes out and fixes the staff this winter with a couple of elitr recruiterd, maybe Id give him some slack.

We need basically three elite classes to be in the hunt again.

Personally, I never thought Kelly was coming here until the fake reports said he was. I wanted Frost. Now, I am glad Kellys lazy ass didn't come here and Frost obviously didn't think he had what it takes for Florida. Screw them both.

It'll be a slow burn if Mullen turns out like I think he might, making 9-10 wins a season a regular habit but falling short of delivering the hardware.

As Captain Obvious as this is going to sound, I wonder if we realized just how profound an impact Meyer's leaving was going to have when it happened.

It's been one downhill trajectory ever since, and I'm not just talking about the product on the field. Urban Meyer was the Big Eraser when it came to all the eff ups we couldn't see by Foley and his minions.

The whole thing has come home to roost, including the stark realization that we can't simply step on the gas pedal because we're Florida. No, we're going to have to patiently dig ourselves out of this mess.

If you think Mullen has any chance of landing a great class this year, then you are the one who needs to "get rillz". Mullen''s slight chance to succeed depends on coaching well enough so that good players want to come here in sufficient numbers for sufficient success to satisfy us fans.
Btw, he isn't going out and hiring elite recruiters either. If he thought that recruiting was that important, he would not have fired Seiders.

But things happen the way they are supposed to happen, otherwise they would have happened some other way.

During the search I told my dad that if Stricklin hired cousin Eddie I would pack up all my Gator memorabilia and gear and ship it to Stricklin with a note saying I didn’t need it anymore.

Sigh. I’ve since stepped back from the ledge. But ol’ dad likes to remind me.

Distinct possibility. I suspect he will be our Richt, without the recruiting. The SEC East being a barren wasteland of coaching talent makes it possible.

Mullen following the Meyer plan for success at UF minus all the arrests and chest pains. Just you wait and see...

About the same time you became a pumper, again...
I'm always a pumper at the beginning of coaching regimes. It's pointless to be miserable at this point, the hire has been made.

You have seemed damn near suicidal for a long time now.
