I've leveled a bunch of crap? :dunno: I was offering feedback, I thought that was the request you made. Sorry my opinion isn't wanted.
Yes, you're a very innocent, soft-spoken little lamb and I just overreact. :rolleyes3: Puh-lease.

I'm not wasting my time dredging last year's thread, or even this year's, for suggestions you ignore or shut down. Likewise, I'm not going to outline all the nifty things you've done with the site over the last year that nobody asked for (email summaries, anyone?).
Ah, I see. Throw out a false accusation and add zero to back it up when challenged. Sounds about right. And God forbid I try to improve the site without asking the permission of each member. Sweet Jesus. You mean you had to click a button to close a sidebar or unsubscribe to a newsletter? Oh, the humanity! Part of me is surprised you didn't contact the Attorney General, or at least the police.

This antagonistic approach to defend your position flies directly against a request for feedback on 'the state of the board'. A preference to defend and argue current positions over sharing ideas for improvement is exactly the type commentary that makes it not enjoyable for me to be a participant. That isn't just you right here, that's a lot of the core group in most threads.
The fact is you often act like a jerk. YOU are the one that is being antagonistic, not me. Remember when you melted down because I didn't put the time of game in the Spring Game thread? That was so bizarre and over-the-top it made you look emotionally unstable. We had people praying for your soul and hoping you got the help you need.

Look, you've made the correct choice by being a lurker. Your skin is simply too thin to regularly contribute and you're impossible to please, so I applaud your decision to do the right thing for you.

Ahh, but I’ve seen you use it when you’ve been in heated arguments so it’s not perceived as a joke. Just sayin...

LOL. Let's just say that I don't going around provoking anyone. Not sure what your endgame is here but you're barking up the wrong tree pal. Do you go after the folks that call people libtards and make fun of their political affiliation? WHat's the difference?

Drink bleach, thanks.

i've already met my quota for yearly board requests since Harvey is now an official emote, but my only other suggestion would be adding a "non-gator" sports forum.

It would be nice to discuss other sports with the people we get used to talking with in the same type sports bar atmosphere.
The Main Sports Forum is open to any sports topics there is.

It usually takes days for a topic to get off the first page. Often weeks in the offseason.

Because I'm the one who asks for feedback and gets mad when it isn't unicorns and rainbows. Right. You would be hard pressed to find anywhere, online or in real life, where anyone perceived me as a jerk, and most certainly little to no evidence of being 'antagonistic'. That's laughable on so many counts, and yet, you went there. If you want approve the deleted message I left, so be it - I'll stand by it. Rather than 'antagonize' I let it go, and you want to bring it into this discussion? Your call.

Funny thing is people worry I take things to seriously or personal, but in this case I'm totally not. But you seem to be. I find that odd.

Keep in mind, this whole thread is because YOU asked for feedback about the site. I gave mine. Because you chose to take it personally is not on me. I didn't turn this into something personal like you seem to want (sounds like an 'emotionally unstable' response, but whatever). A simple rule in life is that if you can't handle criticism, don't ask for it.

Look, go ahead and take another shot at me if it helps your ego. It is oddly liberating to not be taking this personally or seriously. I'd ask if doing so helps anything at all, but that's my nature - why spend effort if it doesn't make things better? For some, they can't help but respond emotionally. For others, and perhaps you are one, the act of making a spectacle of oneself and trying to draw others into it purely for the entertainment factor is worth it. For me, it isn't. Honestly, I'd give you a hug if you were nearby. Seems you could use one about now.

So.... on that note. Someone keeps posting a pic of one of those grumpy tv chef guys saying "fkkking donkey". I thought it should get a litle bit of time as my avatar.

Dont ever google "fkking donkey".

Last year I started one of these, which had over 500 posts. I'd like to do one every year so people can give their 2 cents, so here we are again.

This morning I got an email out of the blue from a former member. Here's what it said:

It is a sad situation. Gator Chatter had a huge potential. You let (redacted) and a few others cost you a lot of money. It’s really sad.

There's no question I struggle at times with how this board is structured and run. While I consider the GCMB a side business, it's a lot more than that to me - it's basically a passion that happens to make me a few extra bucks a year. I don't want to not contribute and collect money, I want to be actively involved on a daily basis.

With my occasionally off-putting online personality, sometimes being actively involved may turn members or potential members away, costing me money. However, I can't help myself - ultimately this place isn't about money to me, that's just a bonus. I have to have a board that's MINE, not a sanitized one that would bring in the most people because it's the least offensive. This place is a continuation of the old GSMB, which was described as a "sports bar atmosphere", and I loved it. I've said it a million times: This board is not for everyone. People come and go all the time, and often I'm sad to see them leave, but I understand it.

Saying all that, I'm open to ways this board can be improved without turning it into Swamp Gas. This is your opportunity to vent and get things off your chest. Basically, this is a Town Hall meeting.

Discuss.

OK, this is the only post I've read so far, but, to get this straight, a do nothing, no balls of his own to start something (let alone achieve its full potential), quitter is telling you that you blew your potential and it cost you money and that that is really sad?

Mmm, OK.

Sorry, I missed this one. To respond, I recognize trolling (sometimes). Sending me back to gather last year's suggestions is a time waster and a means to distract. How about you acknowledge the ones in this thread with something more than a smart ass remark? You did ask for the suggestions, correct?

Love the rest of your response. Dripping sarcasm. I've seen it done better, but not necessarily by you. Anywho, in case you missed it earlier, I accept this site as it is, and you. I respect the effort made to create and maintain it. Where you spend your time on tweaks and changes is your decision - I believe I've stated that, several times. I didn't say it is right or wrong, just that it is fact - which you confirmed. Your the one who has yet to acknowledge any suggestions (this year or last year) that you consider implementing, or won't implement and why. But you don't have to, and that's the point - that's how this site operates, I think we both already agreed on this point, did we not?

I love you, Ox, in a no-homo way (NTTAWWT).

I'm only on page 6, but I'm PMing with TLB right now.

Context is key.

For Ox and the others, it's about something legit from the PF.

For DG, um...watch out for the following unrelated pages.
