:lmao:

Yep. That bird has flown.

Another year of UF flailing around trying to land a 5 star RB.:panic:

Won't mind eating crow if he does come to the good guys but my feeling on his recruitment at the moment is more along the lines of :flush:.

And Stingley is a Baton Rouge native. He's just coming to check out the salt life for a weekend.

Anything is worth the effort, but UF always looks like we're getting played....
Its absolutely retarded that we're recruiting stingley. He's not leaving Louisiana. Atleast not for us.

Interviewer: "So who do you have in your Top 5?"

Recruit: "Bama, Clemson, Georgia, and Auburn."

Interviewer: "That's only four."

Recruit (carefully negotiating the list in his mind to find a school that sounds good but has no chance):
"Florida...they've always been my dream school."

So Jeff Driskel passing yards and John Brantley rushing yards?

Is this supposed to excite me if we managed to pull this kid from FAU?

Well, he's a sophomore so I'll give him a pass. If he puts up similar numbers as a junior I'd be concerned (although E. Jones' numbers weren't huge last year as a 4-star). Here's a thread on this kid on 247 w/ some good info/comments (the article is "insiders", but there's also an article on SEC Country). Seems like he's rising up the boards and UF likes his size (he's 6'4 210 as a 10th grader?). He looks like another battering-ram type if he puts on 25-40lbs. Appears to be our top 2020 QB prospe

I actually like this commit, even though he's a low 3-star. He's a local kid and a legacy....and can play multiple positions. He was the Gainesville Sun's Basketball POY, so he's a hell of an athlete.

Here's a fluff piece by fat-ass "Hollywood" Bob (so take w/ a grain of salt):

Whittemore could go either way at Florida

https://247sports.com/college/flori...more-could-go-either-way-at-Florida-118357373

Versatile athlete Trent Whittemore is listed as a safety in the 247Sports database, but plays wide receiver and safety for his Gainesville Buchholz Bobcat football team. As of right now, the Florida Gators commitment isn’t sure which side of the ball he will end up at when he shows up at Florida.

Whittemore has great size when he roams alone in the middle of the Bobcat secondary. At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, he is quite noticeable on the field. He said he’s added size since the end of last season and is transitioning into getting used to playing with more muscle.

“I felt pretty good about it,” he said about the spring shortly after his BHS varsity team beat Ponte Vedra 21-7 In a half of football Friday night. “I tied to use the offseason to gain a little weight and get stronger and figure out how to use that weight. We got some good players that came in and I felt like we had a good spring.”

He had a quartet of catches including a touchdown reception and a slick interception on the sideline Friday in just a half of football.

“As a DB I try and get better every day on the little stuff, you know my hand placement and my feet,
stuff like that.”

Whittemore is in kind of a unique situation. He was recruited by the previous staff at Florida and committed to them. Then, Dan Mullen’s staff took over and he has decided to stay the course with his commitment. The transition from one to the other hasn’t been hard at all according to Whittemore.

“It’s been pretty smooth actually,” he said. “Around January or February they started communicating with me a lot. I went over there and enjoyed the atmosphere a whole lot so decided to stay on my commitment.”

Helping things out is the fact that assistant coaches John Hevesy and Todd Grantham have sons playing for Buchholz. Both of them can come and watch practice any time because of the unique situation. That might be one reason for the toss up as to which side of the ball he will end up on. He said he will just figure things out when he arrives at Florida.

“I’m an athlete as of right now,” he said. “I don’t really have a preference right now. When I get there they will place me at one of the two and I will just embrace getting better at that position.”

Florida is holding an inaugural cookout on Saturday and hosting dozens of top recruits. Whittemore will be there with his recruiting cap on.

“I am going. Just to be around some guys,” he said. “Florida actually offered Anthony Richardson the other day, the quarterback out of (Gainesville) Eastside. He’ll be there and I’ve been talking to him some, another local guy. I’ll see a whole bunch of guys that I know, so that’ll be good.”

The early reports on Richardson, a 2020 quarterback, have been good ones and Whittemore has respect for his game.

“He’s a tremendous athlete, football and basketball player,” he said of Richardson. “Wherever he is, he’ll have a big influence on the game, so hopefully he becomes a Gator.”

The spring game marked the end of spring ball and so the offseason begins. He will be working to get himself better, and that is all he wants to really do in the fall, just get better.

“I don’t know if I have expectations as far as numbers go,” he said of his senior season. “When you watch yourself on film after the game you want to look back and say ‘I was going 100%’ and making any mistakes I had going full speed and just getting better every game. I’d say that’s bigger than any numbers, just getting better.”

The ADs office seems comfortable with blowing the next decade too.
Agreed! Btw...It's the whole damn administration! As long as the money keeps pouring in they don't give a f*ck if we ever win another national championship in football. They would much rather win that "all sports trophy" that gets 20 seconds of air time on the SEC network.

He's a really good kid but he's slow as $hit! Good size/length but I don't know if will ever help us besides maybe on special teams. I believe we have plenty of those types on this roster...we desperately need some studs!

Yeah not a kid who played in an extremely low classification and threw like 10 passes a game. Lol no where near ready to play in the sec. Our idiot coach just narrowed our qbs down a project of a freshman and a guy that makes jeff driskel look like joe Montana .
