Yeah, but you cannot just have bad backups. QBs get hurt in this league, particularly when they play for the Gators.I think it’s what he sees in Emory.

It's not so much about what he sees in those 2 it's more about what he sees in Emory.I am perplexed that Dan Mullen did not go after Joe Burrow or Hunter Johnson, both higher rated than Trask. What does he see in him? He must see something or he would have gone for one of those two. Heck, what does he see in Franks?
Start EJ. It's the only option in my opinion if you want a QB to fit your system. It's not so much about what he sees in those 2 it's more about what he sees in Emory.
Mullen is not going after kids who couldn't get the job done elsewhere. He's going after kids who are winners in HS that he can develop his way soon as they get to CFB. In other words...he's building for the future!Yeah, but you cannot just have bad backups. QBs get hurt in this league, particularly when they play for the Gators.
I think we start Trask and ease Emory in along the way until he's able to handle the full load. I could be wrong on this but that's what I believe will happen. As long as #13 isn't starting I don't care how they go about it because I think we win at least 8 games with Trask or Emory. If #13 starts and stays the starter we'll lose 2 or 3 games in sept alone!Start EJ. It's the only option in my opinion if you want a QB to fit your system.

I would have brought in Joe Burrow and let Franks walk. Between Trask and Burrow they can read defenses and throw accurate passes. They can throw slants and crossing routes and to the tight ends. I want to win this year, not two years from now and I just don't think Jones is ready yet.I really have my doubts. I believe Trask is a tad better than Franks but neither is the answer. Problem is, it looks like Mullen likes him some Franks. I probably would have asked Franks to transfer.

But my biggest concern is OL. Nothing can work on offense unless the OL improves.
Not his ability. He has abilities, he does not have experience. When the bright light go on can he handle it? If he did not have abilities, Dan would not have kept him or would have been desperate for graduate QBs.I think you are overstating Trasks ability by quite a bit
I hope it's this! I'm a supporter of playing EJ day 1I think it’s what he sees in Emory.
I agree with you for the most part. But i think the offensive line could be serviceable if they were blocking for a decent qb. After a full off season of s&c and a fall camp with hevesy, they would be ok if there was thev th reat of a pass.I would have brought in Joe Burrow and let Franks walk. I am hoping that both Savage and Hevesy perform miracles.I agree with you for the most part. But i think the offensive line could be serviceable if they were blocking for a decent qb. After a full off season of s&c and a fall camp with hevesy, they would be ok if there was thev th reat of a pass.
Well, rankings change practically every time a recruit commits......so the rankings will change 100+ times between now and signing day.
I think Texas finishes higher than us, as they only have 6 commits. And we likely pass about 10 teams ahead of us. We already have 1/3rd of the class committed and not a single top 300. Jones possibly moves into the top 250. We'll get a few higher kids..but even getting Sanders doesn't put us in the top 10. Like I said earlier, look at the 24 schools in front of us and tell me which 13-17 we pass.

Coaches make mistakes. I think that was a mistake but we will see how it plays out. As for Trask, all I can say is re-watch the spring game. Accuracy? I don't think so.
LSU usually has a very good offensive line, RBs and WRs. If Ensminger can build his play calling around Joe's skillset, LSU can be very dangerous.I am skeptical of Burrow and curious to see if he’s really all that he’s been built up to be. Not sure LSU is the healthiest landing spot for him but he chose it and we will find out.
