1995 NC loss to Nebraska (it was cold as **** up in the nose bleed seats we had)

Swindle (I flew cross country just for that game on Thanksgiving weekend and got served a turkey), I lost my voice for days after.

2003 @ MSU (The Zooker’s death nail). Though that’s probably a good thing since we ended up with Meyer. But I flew all the way from Seattle for that crap fest; not an easy place to get to.
Good one as well. We were sitting with mostly Nebraska fans that taunted us throughout the game.
Next time someone tells you what great fans Nebraska, tell them they are full of sh!t. They mocked Quezzie when he dislocated his hip and never stopped the trashy behavior.

Loooong ride back to the hotel that night.

1998 FSU in Tallahassee. Their QB was hurt so back up Marcus Outzen started. I was sure we would win or I would never have gone to Doak. Leaving the stadium afterwards and dealing with all the obnoxious noles was awful.

Marquand Manuel is still dead to me. If he makes that play, we easily win the game.

I’ve got three in no particular order...

The Swindle... my first fsu home game. Was in the north end zone and watched the final bomb with perfect clarity. Knew we were being ****ed but didn’t know how bad until later that night when I watched Sportscenter. Still angry...

04 at UT... I got spit on and pushed over a trash can while walking to the stadium. Sat in the very top row on the Tennessee River side and froze my ass off - it was 50 and windy. Dallas Baker couldn’t control himself and it ultimately led to their game winning field goal. Was so mad that I drove back to Gainesville that night. Seeing the “Go Vols” digital sign out of Knoxville made it worse. Thankfully I didn’t drink that night or I would’ve died on the road. Almost fell asleep several times driving on 75 in South Georgia. Really sucked.

06 at Auburn... it was fun before but it was clear as could be in the stadium that the refs blew the call when Leak was driving for the lead at the end and “fumbled”. Auburn fans were cool about it after but I was still so pissed. My dad, Auburn fan, didn’t help matters...

Rutgers 1985, Florida ranked #3 jumped out to a 28-7 lead in the 3rd qtr. Galen Hall takes out Kerwin Bell and inserts Rodney Brewer at QB who promptly throws a pick six he also threw another int and had a fumble allowing Rutgers to tie the game 28-28 which is how it ended, no OT back then.

I was there and it was AWFUL!

Hall’s excuse for leaving Brewer in the game? He didn’t want to “hurt his confidence.”

Hall was also a buddy of the Rutgers coach. I’m thinking he didn’t want to run it up too bad on him and at 28-7 he figured we’re good and put the scrubs in. Then by the time he went back to Bell it was too late.

I can't conceive of a single Gator over 60 who would pick any game other than the 1980 Cocktail Non-Party.

Did you go? I didn't cite it because I wasn't there. I was in G'ville watching it with a roommate. In disbelief.

Oh yeah, and the mixed parties afterwards. It felt literally (and I use the word literally without exaggeration) like someone had punched me in the gut. It was then that I decided that I took football too seriously.

I was not at the Swindle thank goodness.

1981 Peach Bowl- I drove to Atlanta expecting to see a Wayne Peace victory. The weather was absolutely miserable, temperature was in the 30's and it was really windy and rainy in the old Fulton County Stadium. Andrew Luck's father Oliver was the West Virginia qb and they kicked our ass 26-6 and it really wasn't that close. Every time they scored Daniel Boone would come running out on the field firing his black powder rifle.

1982 The 44-0 Herschel Walker Show - Georgia pretty much owned us back then. Hoping for an upset, I embarrassingly painted Peace on Georgia on the rear window of my pickup. The Georgia crowd was drunk and ugly, I remember one fat fuk hoping for a fight that looked like Haystacks Calhoun dressed in bib overalls laughing at me in my Gator hat and t-shirt when leaving the stadium. The bad thing was back then if Ga won the redneck basturds would stay in town and celebrate for what seemed like weeks.

My dad and I drove up to Atlanta, made all these grand plans, and then as if it were an omen we got in a fender bender on the way to the game. Guess we couldn't take a hint, went anyway and the rest of that miserable day went downhill just as you describe.

Due to the vagaries of the coverage we had then (I forget, ABC? split with Big East and Big 10?), I was on the road and had to drive for a few hours to get close enough to a sports bar that would be playing the SEC game.

Watched every second. I was numb to Zook losing 80% of the games that mattered and just felt relief that I knew he was probably gone.

The first game that came to mind was the Tennessee game in 2003.
This was Zook's second year and he no longer had Grossman to cover his ineptitude.
It was about 150 degrees that day for a noon start and we floundered our way through the game scoring only 3 points.
A bonus moment was when the defense gave up a Hail Mary for a touchdown as the first half came to an end.
When my wife and I walked back to the car, we truly realized what a cluster the program had quickly become.

VERY depressing day

Double, you were thinking just like me on this game. And to boot, I knew we had an asshat of a coach that would allow UToothless with no TO's and clocking running call a UF timeout to let them setup that play. Game was over at that point.
