We need to land the below in July:

Sanders
Jones (Emory’s cousin)
Kimbrough
Higgins
Rae or Zip
Fuller

Not asking too much, right?

Jones is not Emory’s cousin...this has been falsely stated way too much around here

You're missing my point. I'm saying he's a fake person which imo is one of the reason I believe recruits are not committing when they visit. They see he's not genuine and he tries to act a certain way to make the players think he's someone he's not and I believe they are seeing right through it.

I'm not one of the believers that thinks winning cures everything. Look at Nick Saban he took over Bama in 07 his transition class was 10th then he had the #1 class his 1st full class. They finished 7-6 and even lost to Louisiana Monroe still finished with the #1 class his 1st full year. Urban took over at UF in 05 and had the #15 class his transition year, then finished #2 his 1st full year. He finished 9-3 which is pretty good. Kirby took over UGA and had a #9 class in his transition year then had the #1 class in his 1st full year. They were 8-5 his 1st year which average yet #1 class. Those imo are the 3 best recruiters in college football right now. So I think it's more about how well you can recruit and not as much how well you do on the field. I'm not saying you can just lose every game and still recruit well but I think it's more about who's recruiting you than wins.

Savanna is not a fair comparison as he was already established as a great college coach from his time at MSU and LSU. He won a NC before going to bama so 7-6 didn’t mean ****.

dude it's all day everyday in recruiting, especially when it's true

It may be true but I dont agree with it.

Coach recruits player and then talks **** about the player for having a few shortcomings. As a coach it’s their job to cover up where there is a lack of ability or to help them get better.

That being said, they get a little slack because I assume they are talking about players they did not recruit.

Hard to get players to respect the coach when he is talking crap behind their backs. If I were being recruited I would feel off put by it.

Recruiting is tough because it’s very subjective.

Yeah I’m not in favor of talking down the guys on the roster to try and get a recruit.
Maybe this is another reason players are not committing to the staff. They feel like they could be betrayed if they struggle with something instead of being lifted up and shown a better way. Whatever the reason it amazes me were behind the likes of FSU, MSU, UT, Oregon, A&M who are all breaking in a new coach just like us. And all of which had average seasons last year except for MSU who had 9 wins. I just dont see it getting any better unless Mullen hires 3-4 elite recruiters to surround him.

100% agree and it’s a poor reflection of the staff assuming the recruit was quoted correctly and he understood what coach was trying to say.

Everybody sells the same dream the same way. No disrespect to the current players but we can see you playing the first year, blah, blah, blah...

it is what it is. We just had an article quoting Doering as saying these guys don't know how to play WR.

We have some talent at WR, but no production. There is no one out there saying they are afraid of our WRs or that they struggled to cover us. Often, people were laughing because two or three receivers went to the same spot, obvious broken play.

If you are a productive player, you don't worry about a freshman. If you aren't, then the you don't have any right to be offended when the coaches tell the freshman there is playing time available for whomever earns it.

Frankly, a professional recruiter should be able to say enough to make the kid hear what he wants to hear without actually saying it anyway. So I agree with you to that extent.

I see it completely different. It's the coaches telling the damn truth! Anybody who's watched this sh*t-show of a WR corps knows there's plenty of room for improvement. 2019 will be a different story, but the 2018 WR spots are up for grabs.

Bottom line is they are here to teach them how to play the position, if that’s what is needed to be successful.
