I don't get why both of these guys immediately sought out coaching jobs. If I was Butters I'd go back to Montana, buy a 500 acre ranch and never be heard from again. Bert is a little younger, so maybe an analyst job after a year off? Why get back into it right away? It's got to be an emotional thing, not only on him/them, but on the family (mostly the wife). They both left under unfavorable situations (especially Butters). Maybe they have something to prove? Who knows, but if I had $15+ million in the bank I wouldn't be working 2 months after I got fired.

Well I can't say that Bert's opinion surprises me b/c his greatest successes have been when he was not fully in charge. He was a head coach (supposedly) for 10+ years, but anyone with a fraction of a brain, knows that Barry Alvarez was still the head coach at Wisc. even after he "retired" to be AD. Plus it was a lot easier opening running lanes on a weekly basis in the Little 10 when you only had to play 1 or 2 decent D-lines a year. So Bert got tired of everyone saying that he was "Barry's Boy" and thought he would prove to everyone he could win conf. titles in the best league. Well that did not go that well so he now becomes "Bill's Bytch". I am sure he will slide right into that role, never to be heard from again!
