If SF would get his act together, with a name like Stone for an offensive lineman, he could have some great merch if he was a pro.

I just watched the first half of the UAB game. Granted it was UAB and he acquitted himself admirably. There was only one play when maybe he was a bit sloppy in that he let his guy go early. He pulled couple of times and I saw no slowness in him. I have no idea where this idea that he is slow comes from.

I watched the second half and the guy is a very good right tackle. He will be an asset. I just might watch the FSU game later.

I can't wait to see what Delance, Forsythe and Banks can do. Not to mention some people that came alive last year that we had written off like Harkless and Buchanan.

I am just excited to finally have a bona fide OL coach.

This. I'm looking forward to seeing the new guys.....and some of the guys who got lost in the shuffle w/ the last sh*tty coaching staff. I think Delance or one of the others could possibly crack the lineup.

McCoy should have been a DT, like his dad, from the get-go. At 6'1 (and I'm sure that's generous) he would have been a solid plug-in at NT/DT at 310lbs.

I really think many of us are underestimating the improvement we (should) see this year along the OL w/ factors such as: a proven/veteran coach, a MUCH, MUCH improved S&C program....and all 5 returning starters (yes, sometimes players get better as they get older).

Here's a tweet from Ivey today, I like seeing this:

Sometimes players are slow because they are thinking too much.

I loved his HS tape, he was an absolute mauler.

I agree about McCoy, I think we have some people at center now that are better than him.

Sometimes he looks slow because he's waiting for his assignment to do something and in pass play he can't just attack him beyond the line of scrimmage. He was involved in a few of those plays where his counterpart was just spying the play.

I just finished watching the FSU game. He semi-messed up one time when Sweat speed rushed past him and then Franks just stepped up into the pass rusher. Otherwise rock solid. He totally stoned both Sweat and Kaindoh. ;) Now the left side of the offensive line needs to be shored up pronto!

One thing that stood out to me watching these two games was how bad of a quarterback Franks is. Even if you overlook his 3 picks for 3 scores and another near pick 6 in the FSU game, he is grossly inaccurate. I will take my chances with Nick Sproles.

I will change my selection to Forsythe RT, one of Jordan/Johnson/TJ Moore at RG, J. Taylor C (he was asked to practice there in the offseason by Hevesy), Heggie LG, Ivey LT. I think those are the best starting 5 on the OL. I think we have some decent ones to back them up.

Should extend to this : Players full of doubt are very slow. And McElfake-crew inspired minimal confidence = zero full-speed ahead attack. These kids must have "sensed" Mc&Crew were fake trainers. And how they got "fooled" on the field made for "just go through the motions" spirit - that's coaching that demotivates & inferiorizes. These players will be know that they're better prepared & ready to clash.

What site was Gouraige a 5 star? Are they really that desperate to spin it this way?
Yeah, that will be the desperation backup theory when we land no five stars in this class again.

Which site is this? I can tell you, this is the starting line from last year. There will be wholesale changes on the OL. Heggie is going to be on that line by hook or by crook. Foresythe is going to play somewhere.

Agree leo. Whoever made that lineup was high.

Hevesy is going to put the best 5 OL on the line and the best 5 right now are Forsythe, J Taylor, Heggie, Jordan and Ivey. That's a very, very decent line, probably the best we've had in years. The only question is who's going to play center. J. Taylor was asked to train at center in the offseason. It's not for nothing that he was asked to do that.

ltraz, watch the two games that Forsythe started at right tackle last year. He held his own against FSU's excellent DEs, yes even Sweat!
