Oh, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I always do. No one wants Dan Mullen to be the best coach Florida's ever had more than I do. I like the guy. But I've witnessed enough God awful football in the last 8 years to quickly recognize it when I see it. I don't care what the record is, if it's anything close to what we've had recently his tenure should be short.
With his work ethic and expensive buyout he gets atleast 3 years. The benefits of the new football center will come in the 2020 recruiting class not the 2019 class (as 2019 recruits won't get to use it till their junior year). Mullen inherits the after effects of Mac's lazy recruiting and terrible 2017 performance on the field.

I said his tenure should be short. I am under no illusions that if he fields a 7 win team for the next three years that he will be fired. Not saying that's what he will do, and I sure as $h!t hope he doesn't, just saying even if he did the administration would not pull the trigger. Heck, if Mac hadn't imploded he'd still be here for years to come despite his ineptitude.

Mac's lazy recruiting and big mouth caught up to him. Best to cut that laziness off. Marathoner Mullen is not lazy. He has paid his dues as a head coach and came to UF because he wants more Gator national championship rings.

If he gets Van Jefferson and Grimes cleared he will have a much better offense than Mac. He will have more weapons on offense than Mac ever had at UF. If we can keep Scarlett, Van Jefferson, M. Davis,Grimes,Cleveland and Toney healthy then watch out. If they are healthy I think we have more than 7 wins.

He may not be lazy but he is heading for the same sh*tty results Mac had recruiting. Like a joke 7th best class in his own conference.

I really don’t care if we ban him or not, but this is the most entertaining thread since the coaching search.

They voted "no" because they want to make fun of you.
I have to make this clear. I did not vote "no" to make fun of him. I voted "no" because I am a staunch supporter of the 1st Amendment. And, I cannot be the only one who feels this way on a board of, mostly, conservative men.

Again, one of my favorite quotes of all time. "I disagree profoundly with what you say. But, I would defend, with my life, your right to say it."

I think the guy is a sunshine pumper. But, if we ban him, then we have to ban his polar opposite negative pumper to keep it fair. Then, where does it end? It's a message board for crying out loud. If you don't like what he says, turn the friggin channel.

You’re my favorite poster, but missed the point. Plank was not banned because of his views, and had byrd been fired it would not have been because of his opinions either.

Years ago, Alvin wasn’t banned because he was a Vol. He was banned because he was a pot-stirring obnoxious punk who blew up every thread he participated in and actively tried to disrupt the board. There’s a difference.

I hardly read threads anymore, apparently I’m not missing much outside of Will Grier deepthroating and tantrums about our brand/Jeremy Foley.
You'd love Swamp Gas then....none of that is allowed despite the steamy pile of dung that was our football team left behind by Fooley/Champ/Butters....

So you missed the point too then?

NO ONE was banned because of their views. People get banned because of their behavior. I really have no problem with pumpers or homers.

And besides, this isn't the government. No one has any "rights" here. It's not a democracy or a republic. Hell, have any of you guys even read the rules?

It's a full blown dictatorship, just like Swamp Gas and every other message board that has ever existed.

Hey Byrd, I am one who normally doesn't "throw in the towel" on a new coach especially before he coaches his first game but how do you explain us being 33rd in recruiting even at this point of the off season? It is looking bleak and while things could turn around the closer we get to signing day, the prospects are dwindling and going elsewhere leaving us the scraps once again. Yes, I did not want Mullen but I have decided to pull for him now that he is the coach but its really hard when we are in the same wheelhouse as Ky. and others. Mullens transition class was good but it wasn't good enough to save us. Please explain.

It isn't so much that he's a Sunshine Pumper but rather the weird things he pumps. He needs to sharpen up the smack talk, too. Sounds like it's straight off the set of Mr. Rogers.

Ox, I wouldn't feel the need to explain your actions to anyone. I have been an admin on another site for years and I decide who stays and goes and never cared what anyone thought about it. Its your board so run it however you see fit. I really didn't have to tell you that though...
