Theoretically Cord is going to need a year or two to get back into football and be considered starter quality. No, haven’t you heard? Joe Burrow is the can’t-miss transfer QB at LSU.
We could definitely use another dual threat QB. Look at the kid's stats from Manatee. He can play. He would probably be the starter from day 1.
No he's probably not more talented than Emory Jones. But he's probably mentally and physically more ready to play now than the other QBs. We don't have a lot to go off of yet either. I think Emory is the future. I would be totally fine if mullen wanted to just throw EJ in there and start getting him ready now.
I bet you teach toddlers how to swim by just throwing them in the pool, instead of first training them how to save their lives if they fall in.
That's how my mom learned to swim, except that it was a creek instead of a pool.So you would be happy to lose a bunch of games getting a QB ready for some future that might never come? No wonder we disagree on football.
And throwing a QB in can destroy his career instead of 'getting him ready". Practice and the film room are the correct means of getting ready, not being thrown into the game.

This.
Recently a toddler was taught how to react if they fell into a pool. The final lesson was to throw them into the pool and see if they turned over and floated. Not the first lesson.
So to make a QB ready to play in a game you teach them first, then they can perhaps be a success. You don't "throw them in". At least that is my process, yours can of course be different.
He can only be there for couple of seasons. No, haven’t you heard? Joe Burrow is the can’t-miss transfer QB at LSU.
They are right. He would at best be huge project and a coin toss as to whether he ever contribute.Kid flips us the bird and then one of the two swamp ass trolls immediately shows up to assure us he never would have helped us anyway.
Soooooooo predictable.
do you think that in any way shape or form matters to either of them? They are right. He would at best be huge project and a coin toss as to whether he ever contribute.

That is a safe response.
If a football team signs 22, ie 3 under the limit, every year for 5 years, they would potentially have 110 guys on their roster. They can only have 85. Of those 85 a number will never contribute. That means most of the signees in football contribute little or not at all.
So the random probability is that any given signee will not be a big contributor. Of course some do contribute.

Burrow only has 2 years of eligibility at LSU. They have been almost as bad at QB as we have. But they have had some very very good teams that were a QB away from playing for national championships. Sandburg has 5 years to play 4.No font for sarcasm - which is how I meant it. I could be wrong, of course, but I argued against Burrow transferring in on the premise that I’m tired of going to that well. On paper he’s not as experienced or highly rated out of HS as Zaire. I’d rather see us develop what we have (Jones & Jones especially). We don’t need to keep slapping bandaids on the QB position.
I think he’s got 3 years of eligibility. I’ve been wrong before and if he turns out great at LSU then so be it. But even that wouldn’t assure he would have fit at UF, even as iffy as we are at QB.

I wanted Sandburg for couple of reasons: First, I want 4 QBs in the room, second he ran the same system in HS, third he is more mature, fourth his completion percentage in HS. Did I think that he was going to come in and save us. No, I just wanted an insurance policy. He would not have prevented Jalon from coming and maybe he would make a capable backup somewhere down the line. Now if he developed into a starter, more power to us.
