Lot of love in here.

Let's not run off Leo already, please. It's nice to have a new contributor.

Thanks, Ox. I can take care of myself!

And oh BTW for the 5* chasers: can somebody tell me Marvin Wilson's stats for FSU last year? Has Jefferson lived up to his rating? Ivey? Clayton?

You're mad. I get it. Getting owned has to hurt:
Seider commits:
4* Watkins
4* piece
4* Clement

That's in a year.

Look at PennState

4* Dunmore
4* Ford

How's Greg Knox recruiting right now?

How is this? Ohio State landed the #4 and #6 RBs, Auburn the #5 and #10 RBs. Now that's recruiting!!!

Knox still has us in the race for the following people: Zipperer, Sropsher, Trey Sanders, Emery, Mingo, Kimbrough, Marks and Trey Palmer.

I wanted Seider on this staff at least until they had developed Florida ties. But it was not meant to be.

Did you know that Georgia had the 51st ranked class this time last year? They ended up having the #1 class. Alabama's was somewhere in the thirties. Stop hyperventilating!!!

It's not just our current ranking...it's the ever dwindling board of available prospects that are considering UF. This staff isn't landing anyone on these visits where the recruits "rave" about their visits. They aren't landing any of the guys that are stating we are their #1. We have guys like Billingsley leave campus with us #1 and stating he was so close to committing...goes elsewhere and immediately commits to Bama. Guys like Pittman that had us #1 were given enough time to find places elsewhere and it is starting to look very similar for a guy like Higgins to do the same. This staff does not currently have that cut throat recruiting mentality that is needed to succeed. It is still somewhat early to "panic" or "hyperventilate" but there is more than enough reason to be concerned with this recruiting class right now.

Most are honestly waiting until FNL. I’m no longer optimistic about it and have felt this way for a couple weeks.

People act like fans haven’t given Mullen his due, but they are clearly stating his missteps. They aren’t necessarily complaining that we are ranked where we are so much as, we have a crappy ranking and top players on our board are dropping us.

It’s not as if player A,B, & C have yet to commit...they are gone. So who were these players? Kids on the other coast and out of state. I get that you have to put some time into recruiting top kids who show interest, but you have to know when to cut bait.

And then facilities. I agree they aren’t the end all be all, but we’ve been saying that for years. Kids want better. We can’t rest on the fact that we’re UF...kids don’t know about SOS or even the Meyer years. So facilities matter more each year, and we’re slowing down instead of speeding up.

It’s not that we’re ranked 30 something, it’s how can we actually expect to move much higher. Please, give realistic recruits that we can expect (not hope) to sign.

Texas has now made headway in the race to sign WR Higgins.

We still lead, but right now I have very little faith in this staff's ability to close on ... anyone.

He has about 2 weeks to unscrew this stuff. I don't see it myself but hope I am wrong. I think we are destined to a mediocre class in the teens.

Well if true then while he may be a great recruiter, he's a complete retard otherwise. You just sat on a staff with Greg the worm Nord, drunk nussfckmeir, and fat macelfart for a year but NOW you want to trash talk? Get lost douchebag.

Far from a douchebag. Very professional, very personable and well mannered. The type of guy that connects well with folks....hence his success in recruiting. He was moved to TE’s to make room for Knox. There was some loyalty expressed by the RB crew towards their former coach. It created some uncomfortableness. He was not fired or run off directly. But it became apparent that it would probably be best for everyone to move on and so he did. DM did not object. He wanted his guys anyway which is his right as the leader. I think some fantasies were made up to take the edge off what was a big loss.

Seider is in demand and will always have a job. But I can tell you he loved being a Gator. There will be one or two key players from the Glades/SFla headed to Penn State for the next few years. He will establish a pipeline. Kids and their parents love this guy. Somewhat of a legend down here...PB County HOF and all.

Kair Elam (4 star DB)
Keon Zipperer (4 star TE)
Chester Kimbrough (4 star DB) just picked up 4th star on 247
Marcus Tillman (3 star LB)

These are the only four recruits that UF seems to be comfortably solid on, and I'm not totally sure on Zip as far as that goes.

We still lead for Higgins but Stanford and Texas are there too.

We're competing for other guys but don't look to be the favorites and it's obvious the staff aren't closing right now.

This class could have been upwards of 25 players. Now we'll be lucky to reach 18 decent signings.

I think it will be shocking if we pull this kid out of Austin. He goes to the same HS my kids will end up going to. He is 15-20 minutes from UT. I have to think if Texas wants him then Texas gets him.

whatever the truth is, Seider has not been efficiently replaced and his departure is hurting us right now.

yeah, it seems any reason kids have to pass on us right now is reason enough.

plenty of blame to go around. Foley, Stricklin, UAA, Chump, McInsane, current staff, etc.....

This is about spot on. This staff better start working the Plan B's. I was hoping for 12 blue-chip players in this class, that is going to be difficult to get to now.

Getting Sanders and a couple of the DL players we're taking swings at will be helpful (for the class and the overall rankings). But if we only sign 20-22 players there's mathematically no way we crack the top 20. That's bad, anyway you look at it.

Zip is all over the place...first it's instate schools, then he says he wants to play out of state, to now it appears he's leaning towards miami and UF with most thinking miami at the moment. Sanders seems destined for bama and Higgins seems to have UF and Stanford at the top of the list but reading where that's because UT hasn't been on him hard at all and if they want and push for him it will be real hard for UF. This is why locking down commitments is so important...sure they sometimes change their minds but far more often than not they don't. But our staff seems to like the go out there and visit other schools and not pressure the kids tactic and it is getting our asses kicked.

Looks like a few big time programs have offered him as well, I get the feeling we’re going to start seeing more and more plan B’s offered as we move forward this recruiting cycle.

Agree on the Plan B's and I don't mind. I'd rather they offer now than wait until late November (or January).
