Believe it was 2015 or 16....we went into NSD with 2 targets left, didn't land any of course and everyone around here complained how much we suck at closing etc. etc. Fast forward to Mac who stole practically half of UM's class and everyone was complaining about how we should have locked these guys up sooner and we waited too long.
He said great class

Considering that those weren't good classes, people should have been complaining.

You want us to celebrate failure?

I really don’t mind not being in the top 5 if it’s because we have 3* interior linemen that are SEC ready physically with good offer sheets

Not sure which year that was but the 2016 class is really turning out to be a paper tiger (really not quite that on paper either) as most of those blue chippers were Franks and a bunch of receivers who haven't performed decent here except for Cleveland. It reminds me of that class Muschamp got with all the highly ranked WRs that never did anything except he had a few good defenders in that class unlike Mac's 2016 class.

Well during the dog days of August it is traditional to play some of the standard recruiting guessing games. With the new early signing day, these are more interesting than in December as in the old days.

So here goes, those interesting in playing can give their best guess at:

1. Who UF's next commitment is most likely to be?

2. Who currently committed to UF is most likely to flip.

3. Who as happens every year UF will flip later from another school?

I almost posted this a week ago, but the answers to all 3 would have been easy then. Now each is a bit of a stab in the dark?

I think we still got a shot at Cross but idk if Kimbrough will flip...interesting you think that...are you going with the fact most New Orleans kids go to LSU?

The LB recruiting has been awful, especially the last Muschamp and 3 Mac brutal LB classes. But, we’ve had some per Rivals (Diabate doesn’t appear top 50 or anywhere near that on Rivals), including Reese in the last class and Black in this class. But, that 4 year streak from 2014-2017 was brutal. Then again, some of these guys were not exactly great. The only truly good class was Jenkins and Bostic. Jarrad Davis was one of the only lower rated LB’s to turn into a high quality player.

Jelani Jenkins
Jon Bostic
Alex Anzelone
Brendan Beal
Daniel McMillan
William Greene
Lerentee McCray
Antonio Morrison
Brandon Hicks
Michael Taylor
Lorenzo Edwards
David Reese (younger)
Diwan Black
Jenkins, McMillan & Mccray were 4 stars i think. Anzalone was 5 star. Greene was a de right? The rest of those guys were 3 stars.
Now with Black and possibly Diabate, the LB portion of this class is looking really good.
Kimbrough and Elam would be really solid at CB.

Per rivals everyone I listed was a higher ranked 4star LB than Diabate is now.

Yours is a really good list. UF is on a Diabetes run in crystal balls right now. I agree about any kid from Louisiana though New Orleans is a bit more open than the rest of the state.

Do you have any particular Miami player in mind?

Rivals has none of their scouts that made the famous. Theyre literally all at 247. And 247 has him at 56th overall and 4th rater OLB. He performed really well at the opening and has very good measurables.

Ok gotchya. That's not a great list though. I like all of those guys. But only a few turned out to be real contributors. We really need Black and Diabate (if he chooses uf) to pan out. We can't afford to miss on guys at LB and DB this year. Both units are thin from bad recruiting or injuries.
