UF failed to win home games last year where the opponent:

1. scored 19 points
2. scored 17 points
3. did not score.

So perhaps this defense is not as bad as you are trying to make them out to be. Of course I am counting the game canceled due to the storm, still I think UF would have won that one, how about you?

In addition UF lost at UMo and SoCar who a good coach should beat every year with UF's talent and resources. So throw out the game UF's opponent scored 19 points as that will be o the road this year, I already have UF up to 8 wins. Replace Michigan with another scheduled win and UF is up to 9 wins. Then the issue becomes can UF win one of at Miss State, UGa, at FSU or a bowl game and not blow the game at UTn a program in more disarray than UF's was.

Another way to look at this is should Mullen wit this UF roster lose to:

1-3. Any of the scheduled wins?
4. UK
5. Orgeron?
6. UTn's 10th or whatever choice
7. Miss State with a new coach?
8. UMo at home?
9. Vandy?
10. SoCar and Muschamp?

I’m not saying the defense is bad. I’ll go with unproven. I appreciate your “we should beat these teams” post, but you didn’t type a word that addresses the question you were answering.

Again, why is our defense who is almost part of 9 losses last year going to be appreciably better?

1-5 and 9 maybe
6-9 likely

He was 50/50 vs Bert and that Ole Piss coach on probation.

I am sorry perhaps I should have said, if he was the right hire "should Mullen with this UF roster lose to:"

I am not confident he will win these 10 games. I just think if he doesn't UF has made another poor hire.

but you didn’t type a word that addresses the
question you were answering.

Perhaps you should reread the question I was asked

walk me through why our defense has improved from their 4 win season to doing their share of obtaining 10 wins this season.

and then focus a bit on my answer

UF failed to win home games last year where the opponent:

1. scored 19 points
2. scored 17 points
3. did not score.

So perhaps this defense is not as bad as you are trying to make them out to be.

So I walked you through two games where the defense did their share but UF lost. I followed up by mentioning SoCar and UMo who this defense should be able to hold down better at home particularly if the coaching situation does not fall apart again. I mentioned a game UF did not get to play last year that might well count to get to 10 this year. I mentioned that last years Michigan game is replaced by a schedule win the D is likely to do better in. So it appears to me that I both walked you through the schedule and pointed out where the defense did well enough to win last year and pointed out other games where UF's D can be expected to be better and contribute to wins this year.

With $6 million a year comes expectations, he knows it, we know it. If he doesn't meet said expectations within a time period he will be looking for this next job.
And still getting paid, just ask Muschamp and shark lover

I am viewing from afar, but this notion is ludicrous. However my fear for the season is that we win 9 or 10 games against a very manageable schedule and everyone thinks all is good with the program. Sort of like all was good with the homers just b/c Butters got his teams to the SECCG twice. I will view the product and the quality and am less interested in the win total per se. yes it is important, but the work needs to be from the bottom up, not the other way around.
So true.

Wow?

1. I am pessimistic about Mullen but the schedule is the schedule as reflected by the prediction this thread is about.

2. Meyer inherited a terrible QB for his (and this) system. Franks is a much better dual threat prospect.

3. I guess you can call success "whatever signs ... are necessary to recruit top 3 classes again" IF you think coaching does not matter or you are merely interested in bragging to your friends in February. I would look for signs of good coaching and the first place that should show up is on the offensive side of the ball.

Although it is totally fair to say that Leak was a less than ideal fit for this system, it is ludicrous to suggest that Franks has proved a damn thing about being superior to ANYONE in ANY SYSTEM. Physical attributes? Yes. Anything even remotely resembling the poise, accuracy and mental acumen required to succeed at QB in the SEC? Not NO, but HELL NO. I hope I'm wrong about Franks or that the donkey is wrong about Trask. Unfortunately, I highly doubt that either of us is wrong - in either case. Incidentally, I also shared your initial disappointment in DM's hire. I do however now view him as a significant improvement over the imbecile he replaced. Of course, that ain't sayin' much.

Remember that ubiquitous "Bill & Bart" advertising campaign that Nike did? I think they booked all the town criers in every arrondissement in Paris.

Hey it’s Dennis Miller! I’m sorry, but if you plan on using words like “ubiquitous” and “arrondissement” around here, I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.

If I have to get a dictionary to communicate with you, I’m not gonna use it to look up definitions.
I just cant get over the fact that the English language has a word meaning "throw out a window." And it is almost as long as spelling out "throw out the window." Even though I am a graduate engineering with consummate verbal skills, I had never heard of cunctation. Thought it was an anatomy term.

That's how you make a name for yourself in the prognostication business. Florida is an unknown commodity. It's a brand new coaching staff with a roster of underutilized talent whose limits nobody knows for certain. Of course the playoffs are unlikely, but there's not a clear and specific basis for ruling us out. So Brian Jones takes a flyer on us, and if we don't make it, nobody'll remember he said it. But if all the stars align, he's the one genius who called it.

Let's not forget, everybody laughed when some guy named Mike popped off with a hot take about the unlikely duo of Guillaume de Montague and Barthelemi de la Chapelle aux Ursins reaching the Doubles Final at the 1553 Royal Tennis Tournament. But who's laughing now, hmm? HMMM??

That's Bill on the left and Bart on the right, in case you didn't know.

Of course, history will remember that "guy named Mike" by another name.

Yep. Defenestrate is a verb that means to throw something out a window. And yet, fenestrate is not a word for throwing something in a window. Go figure.

Meanwhile, cunctation is a word everyone should look up. Right now!! Don't be cunctatory about it.
we got a regular bill oreilly here, everyone.
