First you said:

But what if you take away Black’s efforts?

Then CGgater said:

Can you guarantee Black is the one who delivered Diabate? I’m sure he’s helping, but we don’t know to what extent.

implying what you were saying take away Black's contribution to getting Diabates.

Then I said:

Yeah if he read what Diabate actually said,
Perhaps he would not have been giving Black so much of the credit.

and of course quoted Diabate.

Then you put on your tough guy act and ranted and raved at me for a few posts for who knows what reason.

Then you finally said:

So show me where I said that Black was the cause of us Diabate?

And again first said:

But what if you take away Black’s efforts?

Now I took what you said the same way as CGgater. Maybe he and I are wrong, but then I am not sure why you would want to take after me when he was first. In addition it may come as a surprise to you, but it is rare on a message board for anyone to read all of anyone's posts including yours as much of an insightful tough guy as you are.

New recruiting practice since spring game:

"I have also confirmed that Florida will no longer use students dedicated strictly to football recruiting to act as 'guides' on official and unofficial visit weekends.

It used to be that the mostly young ladies, sprinkled in with a few males, were called Gator Gettors. They helped host prospects while on campus visits. Then, quite a few years ago there was an issue with Tennessee's version of the Gettors, and some changes were made. What was once known as the Gettors became the more PC Gator Guides.

Back then, even if you couldn't identify a prospect, if you saw a two Gator Gettors/Guides with one kid, you knew he was a high priority. I don't know how to say this without being out of bounds, but the hotter (sorry) the Gettor/Guide, the more high profile you can bet the visitor was. I'm not saying that to be sexist, that was the reality of the situation.

Now I have been told that the spring game was the last time they will be used. When needed the football program will have the University Gator Ambassadors - those who show all students around - help with the visitors rather than having a dedicated group just for football."

The Inside Scoop: Recruiting office vacancy | Inside the Gators

What a great idea! I'm sure Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and literally every other P5 team has stopped this as well. Glad we are leading the charge in ensuring basic biology places no factor in where a 18 year-old decides to spend his college career.

My high school cross country coach was a former Gator football player. He somehow got us (as the hulking runners that we were) in to the Gator room, locker room after the game and generally included with recruits for the game. I was so unaware of the whole world of recruiting back then in the early nineties.

Anyway, the point of this is to say that I remember the Gator Getters and how disappointed I was in their looks. Since then I wondered if it was all above board, but to be honest, while I get that it is passé, I think most of those guys could find a different caliber of 'hottie' at a party or through a less official channel. Perhaps the more beautiful gals worked the games we didn't go to (you could imagine that we weren't at the bigger games).

They weren't called gator getters when I was in school. To be honest I can't quite remember what they were called, but it wasn't gator getters. Gator guides keeps popping in my head but I know that isn't right either. I should know, one was a girlfriend of mine my junior year and 2 others were good friends, one I'm still very close with today. She married a marine buddy of mine. And yes, they were hired and used for their prominent "assets." Some of them knew the deal and played the game but took it no further, others were hoars who slept with the players. My 2 friends were the former, my ex girlfriend the latter

Oooops! I hadn't read ahead in the thread. I'm sure your gal was a beaut! :embarrassed:

...though they were called Gator Getters when I was there in the early nineties, though perhaps not officially?

I would like to believe DM’s emphasis on ST will give Massey way more opportunities for success than Powell got.

In fact, for all the bashing Powell got from this board (myself included), I wonder if it was more about pathetic nord ST organization (blocking assignments) than Powell’s KR abilities that caused the poor results? Or did he just get lucky on that 80 yd PR TD?
Didn't look lucky. Next punt return was pretty good as well.

Imo, that play turned the game around. The interesting thing to me was him out running the NFL players. Didn't think he was supposed to be that fast, straight ahead.

I read a well proof-backed article following the 40's times on NFL players. They found that all the player's fastest times were when they first came out of college.

People who want to minimize the efforts of the coaches so that their priors are met.

Mullen has priors ?

Talked with Colquitt County OL Kamaar Bell tonight following their 42-14 win over Trinity Catholic, MO. He said as of right now, there’s a 75% chance he’ll be a Gator.

One of the more important guys on the board. Really, really need him.

So I am watching the STA-DeMatha game and especially watching Nick Cross, a prospect we're interested in but is trending towards FSU's and whose father favors PSU. Well based on this game they can have him. STA totally dominated DeMatha to the tune of 38-0 and Cross looked totally lost.
