So people were all over FSU for complaining about fake injuries last week. Well I think Kentucky set a new world record. I saw one guy literally start running back towards the defensive huddle then sit down on the field and claim cramps after we started moving the ball. There was no doubt he was faking it just by the way he went down. If this becomes an epidemic I think that they are going to have to install some new rules that make a player who leaves with an injury have to sit out a minimum of a series. The number of injuries tonight that were faked by Kentucky was absurd and made the game unnecessarily choppy and tedious.

I'd think Feleipe would appreciate the extra time for our OL to grab a breather and possibly even figure out who they should be blocking.

Dude I played football. I know what cramps are. These guys weren't having cramps. And if they were they were the most well-timed cramps I've ever seen.

Well you don't have to play football to know what cramps are, but if you did play football in FL you certainly saw guys finish plays and then cramp up. It happens all the time every year.

Yeah, again, the most timely and repetitive cramps I've ever seen in watching decades of football.

The first guy got a cramp on the 2nd or third play of the game, after hydrating all day. I laughed and knew what was coming.

It's the new strategy now to counter the hurry-up and damn hard to do anything about from the officiating. Get used to it. The one thing they could do would be something like what we see with concussions. Cramping is a sign of dehydration and would probably require a lengthy period of re-hydrating (like say a whole quarter out of the game) the first time it happens. That might curb it a bit.

I was saying last night that anyone going down with cramps should be forced to sit out the series at a minimum. I like the quarter idea better. No doubt they used it every time we gained a little mo on O.

These players have access to elite trainers and very high tech nutrition/supplements. Proper hydration and electrolyte levels should be 2nd nature. I believe someone “cramped” literally after the 1st play after half time. If you are truly cramping, a few minutes of rest isnt the solution. Your ass should have to sit the remaining of the half.

This is it. Is all about player safety. If a guy is getting cramps then it is dangerous to send him back out on the field without being properly evaluated and rehydrated. For the sake of the players, if you get injured enough to need to stop the game and get attended to on the field, then you need to sit out at LEAST a handful of plays before you can go back in. Problem solved.

I like the idea of pulling them out for the series or at least the play Or maybe hit them with a time out. But not because of anything that happened last night. I just don’t like the fact that it makes the games longer and it’s a bytch move. But as for yesterday we lost because we sucked ass - Not for any other reason.

Agreed. The solution is simple. If you go out for ANY injury you may not return for the rest of the remaining quarter of play. If there is less than 5 minutes in the quarter when you go out you cannot return during the existing quarter or the next quarter. If it is in the last 2 minutes of a "defined"close game, say 14 points or less, then that player cannot come back for the remainder of that game and the first half of their next game.....If any player requires medical attention to be helped from the field requiring clock stoppage twice in any one game then they should be ineligible for the remainder of that and their next game.

:lmao2: Are people really going all Willy Blackelwain and blaming the fake injuries?

I thought this was a sarcastic thread.

No team can win when the others are faking cramps. No way man.

Cramps negate talent, nearly as much as the midline.

Why don't you try a little reading comprehension for ONCE.

Nobody is blaming the loss on these "injuries" any more than they are blaming the loss on rap songs between plays or Tom Petty. Its just commentary on what they see as a trend and its not a good trend. It worsens the game.

Just finished watching. They cramped every single time we moved a drive 30+ yards and we moved to the line quickly. It was embarrassment. Killed the momentum each time.

No, our ****ty OL, DL, and LBs (not to mention the safeties letting dudes behind them on 3rd and long for TDs) is why we lost. I don’t think the zebras called a bad game but I’ll never believe he missed that FG. I was surprised with Franks after reading comments before watching - he played worse when pressing but he really looked ok in the first half.

That said, the cramps were fake and intended to negate hurry up attempts on drives gaining momentum - and it worked. It’s systemic in CFB right now and they need to curb it - sit them the rest of the series if they’re cramping and it’ll stop.
