STricklin. He hired a losing coach in the SEC. Why would anyone be surprised that Mullen is what he is after 9 seasons. Don't give some crap about "but it was Miss St". That's hogwash. And we all know it...now. If you didn't believe it before...believe it now.

I blame myself for continuing to give a fck about what a bunch of 18-20 year olds consider to be right or wrong ways to live their lives.

I think I may have a solution to my problem.

Franks is not the reason we freakin lost omg. He was not put in a situation where he could be successful. The entire defensive unit , offensive line and play calling . That's reason we lost last night.

Blame is so passe. Blame your self. You could be a Bama fan. Nothing is stopping you. If your team's success is so important you have to spend time here explaining why it is so bad while pointing fingers all willy nilly then maybe this team is not for you. I can guarantee you the players in those red uniforms will perform to your standards and the W L record will be almost everything you desire. IF it is five star world you wish to inhabit that is the place to be. If you like basketball keep your blue and pull for UK. They just reload with five stars each year.
This guy Mullin was here when we were great. QB coach for our greatest QB (or 1 of our top 3). I remember a lot of Dabo hate and ridicule in here early on. And he got it done in Clemson. Dabo was a clown to many in here and had no chance. Im sure I am wrong and Mullin's sec record is etched in stone as his past ,present and future. I wanted to see improvement this year and have in a few spots. But improving your lines and LBs with the talent we lack is probably not gonna happen this year. We thought the dominance and greatness would go on forever with SOS and the Zook talent laden Urb teams. But one thing I have learned is nothing stays the same. Just ask Bama. They were in the wilderness for a LONG fckn time after the Bear and his cigarette ruined lungs were laid to rest. Its sucks right now. We have nothing to brag about but fsu stuck with WillieT. Or most of our sports teams. I want us to be good. I want us to look good on the field. I want us to have more players like Tim or Eric Rhett or Emmitt or Shane but wishing is for wells.

I was wondering if I was the only one who felt this way. He wasn’t as sharp as week 1, but I still thought he played hard and actually made a couple of plays on the ground that were just hustle. The cats moved the ball at will and the choker had no answer. Outside of some plays by Henderson, the D players didn’t even seem to play hard for him, which is a total indictment of their coordinator.

Frank's attitude--particularly toward the Oline.
Once he was knocked on his azz a few times, he lost his composure. His attitude affected the entire team.
I'm not blaming his play as much as his lack of leadership
This team desperately needs leaders ON THE FIELD.
Perhaps that starts with the coaching staff. But in my experience leadership is a quality that exists in one's own nature. No one had to coach Tebow to be a leader; imagine if Danny would have reacted the way Franks did after taking hits. There are different ways to lead a team to success under adversity.
The rest (missing tackles, missed assignments, etc..) has already been mentioned.

Oh gosh I grew up listening to Otis Boggs call games and we regularly sucked but we were gators and it meant something. I was so happy to qualify to go to UF. Most of my high school friends did not get in

I blame Foley, Young and Machen. Had Foley communicated to Young how important it was to stand behind Spurrier he may have never left. Had Foley communicated to Machen that Spurrier won big and clean and that going with anyone else was dangerous, then perhaps we never would have had the Meyer error.

So like Boston and the curse of the Bambino we now have UF football and the curse of the Head Ball Coach. You should never success for granted.

Foley should have done everything in his power to ensure that Spurrier coached here until he retired or died.

He failed and we have been paying the price for it ever since. We made a deal with the devil as a result to get Meyer and despite the two Natties, that hire has had disastrous repercussions for us that we never would have had to deal with had Steve been encouraged to stay.

He made some big plays on 3rd down with guys hanging all over him. How many QBs are successful when they are forced to throw it 40 times a game? They were abusing our oline with 4 guys.
As for Grantham, I couldn't agree more. How did our players on that side seem to get worse?

Franks played well enough t not to lose the game; this loss is on the whole team and I agree about Grantham. Watching our defense miss tackles and continually being out of position was a dagger to my Gator heart. And I agree with law that we are suffering at the LB positions and it really showed. But a lot of that is on the coaches imo.
I DO think that we need to establish a sense of leadership on both sides of the ball.

Has anyone thought about not blaming the coach, the team, etc, etc? Maybe the Gators were up against a superior team that outplayed the offense, defense, and special teams. It happens!!!

Who do we blame?

Can't blame the players because, well, that's just a cut too low at the collegiate level.
Can't blame the HC because the immediate response is, "Who's better?"
We've heard all off season how the S&C was 10x better than last year.

Is it us? Did we not root hard enough? Was the Swamp no loud enough?

Your Mom, if she was better in the sack, Franks would have been more relaxed.

When a business fails the CEO is canned, simply. Foley and Foley 2.0 has blown up my beloved Gator Football. Look at the successful coaches Saban, Urban, Jimbo, & Dabo their #1 focus is talent needed period. All of them turned a program immediately but Dabo and he inherited a mess. Their teams all looked better instantly. So who’s to blame? The CEO- the AD’s for these reach hires.
This is correct, but damn if I am not depressed at the realization that anyone better will not seriously consider coming here. Fooley and his protege should be kicked in the balls everyday until they vacate the entire state, for pissing on this program repeatedly.
