GoldenEye's Official "Fire Hevesy Bandwagon

Dan Mullen just put himself on the hot seat

It’s time to shake things up. There’s no excuse for the lack of effort we saw vs. Auburn. It wasn’t a talent gap that put the game out of reach in the 1st quarter – it was effort. This team has no leadership whether it be from the players or coaches. They are just going through the motions

Poor execution, poor defense, poor special teams, poor coaching,it’s on the whole team,I’m with them to the end but this is unacceptable…..

Sound familiar?
Fans overreacting? sounds familiar. Look at the Alabama @Miss State game from last year to see a good example of Hevesy's OLs.

He was at MSU for 9 years. It's not an overreaction when it spans multiple years. Can you tell me how many of his OL, that he recruited got drafted in the NFL?

One that immediately comes to mind is Martinas Rankin in the 2018 third round by Houston. What do you know, he started at left tackle this weekend and acquitted himself very well. I'll have to research the subject further. Stewart Reese, RT out of Ft Pierce is sure to be drafted this year. The 247 boys are salivating over him to graduate early and transfer here but I am thinking he goes to the NFL.
He coached 4 all American linemen. When was the last time we had an all American OL? One of his linemen was drafted in the first round in the NFL in 2011. Since the 2013 season, seven of Hevesy’s protégés have reached the NFL.

So it's been 10+ years and my memory is fuzzy but how much of our Oline success in 08/09 was on sheer talent, Hevesy, or Addazio? I know the Daz was a terrible OC but i seem to recall that others really thought he was a great OL coach when that was his sole focus.

3.5 yds per rush gets you a first down every 3 rushes. This is against the best DL that Alabama had in a few years. Georgia had 3 yds/carry in the 2018 NCAA championship game and 7.3 yds per pass so they (MSU) did pretty damn well. Georgia had a total of 365 yds against Alabama but that includes overtime. During 2017, MSU 5.2yds/carry, Gators 4.3.

We will see how well he has recruited and coached when his recruits/former players line up against us in couple of weeks. Watch out for Kylin Hill, sophomore RB who has made Aeris Williams sit on the bench. Aeris Williams had 1107 yds rushing last year.

Not a fan at all of the extreme attention seeking work the process guys. Move on and find blue chips who want to be Gators.
Is that you, Jim McElwain?
On the surface, I get what you're trying to say. But that's the laziest approach to recruiting I've ever heard.
I'm only addressing it because I've heard several others make the same proclamation.

For a decade-long, moribund program like we've been, you actually think there's enough kids knocking down the door to actually field a top 5 recruiting class? You think Nick only recruits kids that like Alabama? How about Dabo, at Clemson?

Heck no!
It's called recruiting. You actually have to go persuade kids to choose your school. And sometimes that means stepping outside of your comfort zone.
Or you do what Mac did... sit around and wait for "the kids that wanna be Gators" and end up with a middling class.

I never said not recruit good players. I said the attention seeking pri madonnas get on my nerves. And most of the time they leave us standing at the alter in second place. We obviously need a lot of blue chips to turn this dumpster fire around. Recruit or die.

edit, I don't want to clutter the Recruiting thread with non-recruiting posts so moving this.
