Heggie is not an upgrade over anyone he would replace. Why aren't Delance, Moore, Gouraige and Belch getting playing time? Maybe their High School OL coaches taught them how to play OL...

Hevesey is a moron - been saying this since he was hired... Savage is a bust at Strength and Conditioning. KenSucky pushed us around all night long so all of that rhetoric about these intense strength and conditioning workouts are just BS too...

I still think Trask is a smarter/better QB than Franks. It does not appear Franks can process information fast enough. Can't believe Trask did not get even a series to see if he could do something different than Franks...

All the OLs are immediately lifting their first step too high, such that their body-weight is getting tipped. Now I want my $250,000.

Ivey, Johnson, Jordan, and Buchanon are on their 3rd o-line coach. Still, the same problems persist. At some point, it isn’t the coach that’s the problem. And who is going to replace them? Like everyone else, I’m mystified as to why our best linemen is behind trash like Jordan. You gonna start Foresyth above Ivey? Unless the depth chart has changed, Buchanon’s backup is a walk-on. The cold hard truth is that no help is coming. It’ll take Mullen a few recruiting cycles to retool this o-line. MacNuss left Mullen with garbage.
@maheo30 man, have you not heard, it's always the coaches fault particularly Mullen's and Hevesy's, they're trash! Get with the program or the lynch mob will string you up before they string our coaches up. I mean look at this video and tell me it's not the coaches fault:

Buchanan misses the block on the linebacker but deep down you know it's Hevesy's fault!

Buchanon has always looked like trash, including in spring games going against walkons.

Buchanon isn't the one who makes the lineup card, Hevesy and Mullinz do that. Not sure why McCoy is on the bench. He is limited but he isn't terrible. So far it seems Hevesy makes his decisions based on who looks most like a starting OL and who is a senior.

Or maybe who is better at practice. Just a thought...

Whelp, he has game film now. And game film from last 2 years.

We were never a good pass blocking team, I just don't think these guys have it in them, but we were a mediocre (but inconsistent) runblocking team the last 2 years. Let's hope we can find some of that again some day.

What MCCoy lacks in size he makes up for with meanness and leadership.

Buchanon needs to go back with the walkons.

It is the coach's fault for not sitting his ass on the end of the bench then going over to him and shaming him for his suckage or at least telling him he blocks like a p vssy….hell my Pop Warner coach used that tactic just to make us mean as f vck and want to kick someone's ass on the next play when we got back in the game...it works.

BTW, the practices this week have been very intense. Live practice with lots of hitting. That's what these guys deserve! If they get hurt during practice, that's just too bad!

McCoy is still nursing injuries (shoulder I think) and so is Heggie!

I heard we were going to practice hard this week and that should fix it.

As much as we sacrificed for this team I hope they puke as much this week as we did.

Do you know how much Cooter puked after drinkingnhis body weight in everclear?

Here's a question;

Who inherited a worse OL, Butters or Mullen?
How do we quantify that? F- vs F? Or F- vs F--?

It is pretty much the same faces a few years later.

The depth obviously isn’t there. Hevesy isn’t the problem. Thought experiment: install the current MSU line and what does our offense look like?

We have plenty of bodies but no depth.

Actually compared with the run blocking, our pass blocking has been downright average. As you can see from the clip referenced above, it's not even zone blocking. Franks is under center and it is straight ahead, man on man blocking. So it's not like they need to remember complicated assignments. Buchanan should have attacked the linebacker downfield instead of waiting for him to blitz through the hole. Maybe he was confused whether it was a passing play or a running play?

Sorry, I meant our run blocking USED to be averagish....

I agree it is now atrocious.

Can't figure out why this seems to be some kind of new brilliant idea. I heard Mullen talk about the team being used to just doing walk throughs in helmets and shells and that might be part of the tackling and toughness problem. Well, no $h!t. You play like you practice.

We've gone overboard on trying to prevent injuries. What good are healthy players who can't block and tackle?
