So many have stated this is the weakest roster they have seen in many years. Others substitute the word “worst” in describing this roster. Yet they seem genuinely surprised DM does not have them playing at an elite level already. Because of that they disparage our coaches and bad players incessantly and cannot enjoy a win.

Either this is the worst roster we have had in 20 years or it’s not. If it is....maybe consider pumping your brakes and let some development take place. Remember how bad you say we are. We’re horrible....we have THE worst QB and OL. So bad that we have folks predicting 2-4-6 wins. If we are truly that bad of a roster and we win the 2-4-6 games then we have met your expectations. If we win anything more we have exceeded your expectations. Why are you expecting us to look like Alabama or any other good team with a talented roster?

My point too!

It's bad, and likely the worst especially in development and playing as a Team. But the trajectory has been changed which is positive.

I wouldn't say the offense got better but the defense showed up and played like they should. They gave up a couple drives but as ox mentioned ,their qb can sling it a little bit. They couldn't really run on us. We tackled better. Got some big special teams plays. It was fun to watch us crush somebody again. And we just increased our bowl eligibility chances. FSU got embarrassed by Syracuse. Not a bad day.

Yes! I am picking FSU to win again next week.

Humans need motivation. If you just give them everything, they will not compete.

It seems like you believe that DM is allowing players to play however they’d like and that there aren’t repercussions for poor play. Mistakes happen on every play. Some larger than others, while others go unnoticed because the mistake didn’t cost the team. Again, Franks did not lose the KY game - the defense played terrible. Franks is still making mistakes, but not enough to pull him. I’d like to think that DM knows whether Trask has a higher floor or ceiling. Trask played in like ONE game in high school and because reporters at practice wrote glowing reviews, some believe he’s better. How? And why does a coach have to put in a player to prove to fans that his decisions are right?

You don’t think Mullen knows whether Trask is better? That’s a bigger problem if true. I trust his judgment over yours.

After his kintucky halftime interview, where he thought everything was peachy his judgement is let’s say, not above being questioned

I agree 100% and had they happened against an SEC team and appeared to have some chance of being repeatable, it would be a less discouraging game. One worries if the special teams plays are repeatable against an SEC opponent.
Muschamp did it a lot.

Did you expect him to slam his QB on live TV? Were you at that game? I was. Franks didn’t have a great day, but he played well enough and so did the offense. The defense was atrocious. Yet no talk of anyone sitting on defense?

1. I was responding to someone claiming UF's WR run sloppy lazy routes. I believe I have seen a number people say this. I said that was coaching, which it is.

2. I also pointed out that sometimes when you put a player in the game you discover they are a bit of a gamer.

3. I have never offered an opinion about Trask. I did not see Bell coming. I did not see Matthews coming. I don't know where UF's good QB is. It is up to the $6 million coach to find him and coach him up.

4. I am not so concerned with floors or ceilings of players. UF needs a credible QB and offense now. That is Mullen's job.

Take a while to catch up reading these posts. Some nods at what I saw (probably covered already):

1) Foremost, I want to insist that Damien Pierce is our best (a) power RB and (b) best breakaway back with speed
2) When Franks fires it, he's a decent passer. When he tries to put touch & think on it = frequent ruin.
3) From 2) Our WRs need to learn to sure-catch Franks' bullet throws. DBs haven't time to get there. That's how Grossman got high % completions. Of course, Rex could think fast too.
4) D closed on the ball like they're suppose to. (funny we have to praise them for doing what CFB is suppose to)
5) Mullen showed clear thinking & communicating. He even did a butt-bump or two celebrating with his players.
6) Swain made his athletic statement. So did Damien Pierce. Now, will Mullen give him his due. Sure, DP might have pass-blocking deficits (I doubt that). But the running game + yac catches by Pierce, Toney, Davis, & Perrine could turn us into a "balanced" attacking offense. Scarlett is not useful enough to get as many carries as he does.
7) Good UF FG kicker - straight shooter.
8) Better these guys can take a modicum of pride from this game rather than that hang-head UK performance.
9) Boy this game started out boring & blah. Stumbled through 2nd Q to a lead. Smoother thereafter.
10) Damnit! Comes UT and again comes worry & doubt?
11) An egregiously slim Gator-crowd (fanorexia) sends message = Admins better pay attention to CFB product.

Grow Gators, no backsliding.

Feleipe Franks passing through 3 games: 41-77 (53%), 570 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT.

We are a low ceiling team. Very thin in depth across the board. Both lines are just lousy. Too many veterans with poor basic football IQ’s and skill. Franks included. Our RB’s are the only position that is almost at SEC level. Its not on the current coaches. The blame rests squarely on the Butters shyt show. If they play with heart, passion and pride we may squeek by a couple teams. We will win three more for sure and maybe another one or two. Glad for the W today and some improvement.

Time to recruit and recruit and recruit some more!

Go Gators!

We do have the worst roster.... ever as far as Im concerned.

Weve never resorted to stealing recruits from directional schools in our worst years.

That being said, we still have enough talent that we should never lose to the Kintuckys, Vandys, or South Alabamas of the world.

Id be a whole lot less concerned and overlook more if we were recruiting on an elite level. We are not even close.

So obviously in his judgement there was nothing to see there, and as far as the D they had just turned kintucky over before half and didn’t completely tank till the second half. As far as Franks if UF with him at QB, can’t put more than 21 points up(that’s what kty O scored) on kintucky at home, then the new norm sucks!

I think that's what you take from this win. We still have all the issues we had last week -- spotty quarterback play, inconsistent blocking, poor tackling, missed assignments by the secondary, not the intensity that I would like to see on the DL -- but you can see leaders being formed and the overall play improving.

ST play was lights out.

We're gonna struggle at Neyland. Don't care. Only care about how we are in late November.

IT'S GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR.
I think TN and FL are pretty evenly matched, so we'll see how we do with the noise. It's obvious, Franks is going to get the full Monte of opportunity. I'd like to see Trask get a shot but if he can't beat Franks out, he couldn't be much of a prize, unless Mullen is just blind and stupid. If Franks actually has it between the ears, though, I'll be pleasantly surprized.

That's my biggest concern as well. To have a chance to coach them up, you're going to have to get them here and that requires being in the top 5 at least and it looks like we are oceans apart from that. It's going to take more from Mullen than just wanting to be here.

Did Davis get dinged up? Looked like an ankle or something. He hobbled off the field and didn’t play again.

Take away Pierce’s “so what?” touchdown in garbage time and we averaged 5.5 yards per carry. That’s not very impressive against Co. State but an improvement over the first 2 games.

More Davis, more Toney, more Pierce. I thought Perine ran hard & Scarlett showed some spark.

Franks has played poorly in all 3 games but Trask is likely far worse. It is what it is.
