I've been too busy with the relocation to come out and play for the last several days, but the new house is up and running and I'm an actual, by-God Floridian again! We're sleeping in the new abode for the first time tonight and I couldn't be more psyched. Scraping TN off my shoes, after almost a quarter century, is a joy no one who hasn't lived among those half-wit, in-bread, sheet wearing, sister marrying, peckerwood *******s will ever fully appreciate. The young gentleman who installed my TV/internet package this am wasn't wearing a bilious orange cap or T-shirt - or puke orange checker board overalls. I liked him immediately. I liked him even more when I mentioned the Gators and he responded with a heart-felt Go Gators!

Back in the Holy Land! Free at last, free at last!

Welcome home. Grew up in Pcola. Graduated from Woodham High which is now a mid school. Maybe one day we will buy a vacation house around Gville; green chile and posole are nice but fried chicken and grits are so much better.

Congratulations on the new home!
Man I miss Pensacola. I lived there for nearly 2 years after graduating Boot Camp.
While attached to USS Wasp, LHD-1 out of Virginia, we would come down twice a year for Air Traffic Control refresher training.
Welcome back to the sunshine! Go Gators!

Welcome home! Living close to the water is a wonderful thing.

Break it in right Sat. with a win over the Vols.

When Rat said break it in right, I was thinking, you know, breaking it in, like owning it, and then I continued reading. Hey, I’ll take a win though!

I still live in Pcola....went to Woodham High as well---75'. Hate to break it to you, but it is not even a middle school anymore. Closed for renovation....construction going on in it like crazy. Believe it or not, they are turning it into--now get this....back into a high school. But it won't be Woodham high, as that name is long gone. Gonna be something like West Florida High--not really sure as I don't pay much attention to the local screw ups around here anymore.

It was Woodham High School since 1965, then in 2007 the brilliance of the school board determined they didn't need a high school but did need more space for middle school students so they converted it to middle--and then merged the high school kids into the other surrounding high schools. Here it is 11 years later and now the opposite has happened and they merged the middle school kids into surrounding other schools and a need to make Woodham a high school again is a priority. But someone decided to just put the name out to pasture and refused to call it Woodham again. Go figure.

That sounds great as well. We're in Pace and the vibe is sweet. God I love Florida!

Welcome back. I too live in TN, but have not seen that level of Vole love. I am also planning a move back to Florida, it is somewhat frightening to see that houses are three or four times as expensive, and that taxes are multiple times as high.

I have planned for it, but doing it is something else. Great you have gotten it done.

It depends on where in TN you're coming from and where in FL you're going. I was in metro Nashville and moved to Pace. I made out like a bandit. I got 149.00 a square foot, and paid 107.00 - for just as nice a place. My property taxes are higher per square foot, but not as bad as you might think.
