My freshman year (89-90) was Emmitt's last and sophomore year was Spurrier's first. Met Emmitt while he was running at the O'Dome after he left. He came back to Gainesville to work out while holding out his rookie year.

Good years to start my Gator life. Graduated with a BM in Music Ed.

Business ties to UF in the past. Grew up going to games. Was accepted, but chose a different path after HS. But trust me, I am all Gator.

Spent a summer at UF, then went to Stetson for 3.5 years, then joined the Navy. Grew up in DeLand before Stetson re-introduced football, so stuck with UF as a fan.

Completed a BS in Workforce Education and Development from SIU-Carbondale while in the Navy.

07 BS Ag/Bio Engineering. Loved going to school there, wasn’t a huge fan of the city. Went back last year for a bball game for the first time in a 7 or 8 years - amazing how much that place has changed!

You think it's changed since '07? How about the changes since '91? Archer Road/Butler Plaza area and everything west of 75 is unrecognizable to me when I go back. Hard to believe hardly anything existed out that way once upon a time.

Class of '73; both parents worked at and retired from UF, wife born in Gainesville, her mother raised in Gainesville and youngest brother went to UF & UF Medical School; our daughter graduated from UF in 2002 and works there now, as does her husband. Anyone have a deeper pedigree than this?
Class of '73. First in my family to go to college. My mom's brother came home from the war and went to Florida (Ag major) and my oldest cousin (mom's age) got his BS and MS in Mech Eng there. My uncle was a Letterman Club member. The first toy he brought me was a Florida football; I was 6 days old. My younger brother marched in the band and graduated 12 years after me. His son graduated with a BS in ME and ASE last year. OBTW-there is an endowed chair at the Ag College (I know they changed the name) in my uncles name-my inheritance is in Gville:).

How about since 65. The interstate runs out there now. Gville shopping center was where you went. (still no Gville Mall)
No more Humpty Dumpty Restaurant (Krispy Kreme there now). No alligator cage by the Century Tower. No air field west of 34th st, Now its the old Butler Plaza.

I’m sure it has but I don’t really have that as a point of reference... That new shopping area west of 75 is crazy to me.

The Gator Nation connections are unreal. A few years back, we figured out that my best friend’s dad and my father in-law worked together while going to UF in the 50’s

Archer Road/Butler Plaza area is unrecognizable just in the past 3 years! Drury Inn hotel just popped up out of nowhere, and there’s a huge Aloft hotel behind the Hilton on 34th, and a huge apartment complex.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (also new) on 13th while I was there. Had to drive by the medical area to get there... ho...li...sheet... That whole Shands complex has exploded. And that pedestrian bridge is pretty cool.

An uncle attended UF after World War II, got his PhD in agriculture, and taught there for a couple years. My mother, his younger sister, attended for two years in the '50's. I arrived at UF in August, 1978. I was blown away from day one. It really is great to be a Florida Gator!
