They weren't. The sports media created that narrative but it wasn't true at all. Social media doesn't lie. When he took the job an overwhelming number of Oregon fans were rejoicing and laughing about it online.

It's also his shtick about "building something" and all the other nonsense he spews in recruiting. Meanwhile, at the moment there are kids at 2 other schools that heard that very same pitch from him, only to see him walk away so he could "build" something else. Total fraud who has no substance at all. Oregon just did't realize they were better off watching him leave.

I was at homecoming 1995 against NIU where SOS sat Danny, and Kresser threw for five, maybe seven TD passes. Our passing game was prolific.
We were with a college roommate and his wife, who upon returning to Pompano made the decision to move back to G'ville.
Those were some fun times.

On that Taggart interview by 6 minutes in the reporters are treating him like a child or like a victim they don't want to harrass by asking tough questions about details of the crime. :)
