Florida vs. Tennessee score: Gators romp over Volunteers to give Dan Mullen first SEC win

3. Watch for news on Vols QB Jarrett Guarantano: The redshirt sophomore signal-caller left the game in the second half with a leg injury after being rolled up on by Gators quarterback Cece Jefferson. Guarantano did not return and was replaced by Keller Chryst.

Was the hit clean or dirty? Here's a link to view it and judge for yourself.

Plus, what happens to Jefferson now? He's one of the stars of the Gators defense, and they turn around and go to Mississippi State next weekend after the Bulldogs were stunned by Kentucky. Coaches routinely send plays to the SEC office, and there's no doubt that Pruitt will send this one in.

Could a suspension be looming? If it does, that could throw a wrench in the works after Mullen's first big win at Florida.

I saw it live and watched the replay. I don’t think in any way was it intentional. He was stumbling and stumbled into his leg.

Could it have been called a penalty? Sure...it doesn’t require intent to be a penalty, but I didn’t think it was intentional, and I don’t know how a suspension could come from a play that wasn’t even called a penalty. I’m probably wrong.

He could be but doubt the SEC will do that...he looked off balance and with momentum moving forward with pads and helmet on its not always easy to keep yourself from tumbling...

If the SEC does suspend him than I hope Dan walks into their office and Dad-Dicks every single one of them

Damn. That’s looks pretty sketchy. Can, or does, the SEC retroactively impose suspensions? Not sure I remember them doing that.

Here's my issue...he's going low with his body at the knees. The only saving grace is I'm not sure he knew exactly where the QB was at the time. So he could be just trying to disrupt the play. BUT, if the jerseys were switched I'd want blood.

It was 100% intentional. He crabbed into the guys knee well after he threw the ball. Should’ve been a 15 yard penalty, but like the rest of the night, the refs sucked and missed the call.

I said in the box last night that he should be done and off the team now. His effort was subpar compared to the rest of the guys and he had already missed 3 games due to his attitude and effort. I have zero doubt in my mind that he did it on purpose.

I don’t know that he should be kicked off the team for it but it was a cheap shot, nonetheless.

In real time it didn't appear intentional to me. In slow motion it looks intentional. I hope not; we don't need players like that on our team. Either way, I doubt it leads to a suspension. Hopefully our coaches will bring it up and remind our players that we're not f$u.

We should probably publicly cane him followed by a good tar and feathering. Maybe throw him in a stockade for a week?

I also think he was the one who made the play on the safety.

If he speared the guys legs it would have been a penalty...but still no suspension lol

I think it was dirty. But, I don't recall the SEC going back over tape and suspending a player later on. If this were the NFL? He'd get a massive fine and suspension of at least a game.

If players were suspended for "dirty" plays or hits upon review after each game, there would be zero players left available to play. That this is even a discussion is fking idiotic.

He stumbled with intent, realized that he shouldn't have done it and checked up. He even pounded the ground after prolly expecting a penalty.
Can't recall a post-game suspension ever happening though.

You seriously couldn’t tell that he did that shyt on purpose? GMAFB.

He “fell” then regained his bearings, then “stumbled” again once he realized he was right there at Guantanamo’s leg. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the UT qb had been talking trash back and forth with the defensive players all night, but that doesn’t excuse the plain as day cheap shot.

I’d love to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it was obvious he did it on purpose.

They had a few late hits and pi calls that weren’t made when they were on defense, so maybe that’s why it wasn’t called. I dunno, but it was a cheap shot, and a badly disguised one at that.

Exactly. Stumbled with intent is the best description. He knew what he was doing, zero doubt.

So that excuses it? Ok then.

If this had been the other way around, this board would be losing its collective fvkkin minds, and you know it. Since it’s “our guy”, that suddenly makes it ok. Got it.
