So we should be excited about scoring 13-14 points because we also didnt run many plays?

:lmao2:

Yeah..... advanced stats.

Turnovers are nice of course.

In the end points is what matters. Never seen a team win bc it had more points per play.

Most of the time the team that has more points per play does win. Just saying.

As you suggest, those are not really advanced stats, but rather per play stats. I looked it up on UF's site and so far:

1. UF has run 296 plays or 296/5 = 59.5 plays per game.

2. UF's opponents have run 336 plays or 336/5 = 67.2 plays per game.

Still they are interesting. The defensive numbers over more plays are more impressive. That 40 play difference is about two-thirds of a game.

Id be more interested in seeing how many plays teams with real offenses have.

With the five Mushchimps in the SEC East and several Bammer wannabes in the west, we really should expect to be atop the SEC in a few years, if tuere really is more to Mullinz bag of tricks these days beyond flies and stops.

Most of the SEC teams are total shyt on offense.

Remember when preople were calling Shytzgerald and Jake Bentley Heisman contenders? :lmao2:

Well I was too and I looked it up on this site

College Football Stats - College FB Team Plays per Game on TeamRankings.com

that I believe only counts D1 FBS games. Alas UF ranks 127th out of 130 teams in offensive plays per game.

UF is 59th in opponents offensive plays per game.

The offensive group is a mix bag. Right above UF are Oklahoma that has an excellent yards and points per game and Memphis that is around 20ish on both of those categories. But also right around UF are BYU, Iowa State and Stanford who have bad yards and points per game offenses.

I haven’t seen this stats breakdown before. Anybody know how this compares to the previous 8-10 years?
