I was quite confident in a comeback win. We had 275 yards and 18 first downs in the first half.

I felt good knowing we were getting the ball to start the 2nd half down by only 8, but then when we went 3 and out and they marched down the field I lost a little faith, but then they missed chip shot field goal and we ran the fake punt and we were back in business. Great job by Mullen and staff.

I knew we were ok down 21-3. Everything was self inflicted. As long as we didn’t turn the ball over ten times we were going to win

After the ridiculous series of events that lead to two ejections for us, I told my dad “we got this”. I was confident Mullen and staff would settle them down, make some adjustments and have our boys playing well in the second half. It’s great to know you have an actual football coach for a change instead of a lump from a Montana!

:chomp:

By halftime I was confident. They had righted the ship by then.

How timely was that fake punt call?

Didn't see the presser. Was it a called play, or was it a read by Townsend?

Turns out we've had plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball. We just needed someone or three to show them the way.

Biggest difference on the field from Mac's to Mullen's team.

I hate noon games on the road in cooler weather but this was a much NEEDED game for our team and they responded by doing what they're built to do which at this point is play their game, mix in a shock play here and there and hope the defense holds.... BTW we scored 24 points in the 2nd half on the road....I like our chances ANYTIME we do that.

Based on how we had moved the ball on them, I was confident even at 21-3. We've been a great turnover-margin team all season. I really thought we could come back on them, esp after the experience in Knoxville.

Franks showed further evidence of his growth in the second half. He made a couple throws over the middle that were NFL quality.

Mullen called, next to FSU in '08, probably the best game I've seen. He's really an underrated tactician and a lot more aggressive than people give him credit for.

He can call a game.

Loved the fake punt.

Once Mullen and Crazy ass Grantham went nuts I figured it would be just fine. I never thought Mullen to be the type to go nuts like that. It's what the team needed to inject some life.

Give Vandy credit. The came out pumped up and capitalized on our mistakes. Scarlett and Perine wore that D out though.

I was comfortable after the big Perine play. We needed something before half to make it one possession. To have that much go wrong and still be within reach was promising. As others have said, the fire in DM was weirdly comforting. Add that to a season of really good halftime adjustments, and I felt good.

Team woke up for good after the near riot.

Fortunate FG at the half really helped.

Fake punt made me a believer. Perfect call and well executed. ST is still lights out.

I didnt. It takes a while to learn to trust a staff, for the kids and for the fans.

This is honesty and I appreciate that. I understand the mindset of being beaten down by previous coaching staffs.

It might be time to turn the corner tho. At this point, we're playing with the house's money. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Go Gators.

As soon as I saw Mullen and Grantham ready to go all Khabib I knew we would come roaring back!
Yeah, Grantham is always ready for a fight, but cousin Eddie "girded up his loins" for a brawl. I'm so pleasantly surprised at just how resilient this team is. What a stupid rule to get our LB thrown out. If there had have been another team penalty, no one would have been left to play.

That was another brilliant call. There were a few stinkers, such a calling on Franks to run the ball wide, but the trick play was perfectly timed and just what the doctor ordered.

For sure. The teams resiliency is like night and day over the past few years. They sucked it up and got the job done. It's going to make an interesting confrontation with the leg humpers who got anihilated by LSU.

I felt better after getting to 10 at the half, but it did require an additional double shot. We were moving the ball so I felt we'd be ok. Sure didn't hurt Mullen and Grantham losing thier minds to fire the team up. Many thanks to Mason for lighting the fuse.

I was confident at half but lost it a bit after the way we started the 3rd until the fake. Thought the play calling on offense and execution were continuing their course until the fake

Down 21-3, I told the couple sitting next to us almost exactly how the rest of the game would play out. I was only off on the margin (said we would win by 20). It’s every Vandy game at Vandy I’ve been to over the past 20 years.
