“Once again, the communication process has broken down”

I’ve not implied once that Bezos was thinking of taking on a night position at Target. And yes, if Frost—in one day—made up for potentially tanking his career, than I stand down. The point is he made a bad move, and money or not, he would’ve been better served playing this differently, and likely cost himself a large chunk of cash. You make more money staying relevant and being a sought after commodity. Once you’re seen for what you are, or just what you appear to be based on circumstance, you will begin leaving money on the table. It’s not complicated.

One also needs to know when to strike when the iron is hot. His UCF players may have went all credit card or Hernandez on him this year and his stock is no longer as high.

They're undergoing a total redo in Lincoln. Takes time. Scott Frost is going to do just fine.

How much do you think the fact they are no longer Big 12 hurts them. Used to be big rivalries with Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Kansas St and now they are just an afterthought in a conference they really don’t fit in. Almost like Rutgers and Maryland just not fitting in.

If that’s the concern, fair enough.

Frost will do fine at Nebraska. I imagine he has to burn it to the ground and rebuild, ie Pell.

Frost was already maxed out at UCF. He has oodles of room to grow in his new digs, and I think he will -- in time.

It's by no coincidence that Frost and Kelly, for whom Frost served as an assistant at Oregon, are both struggling in their first year. Their systems entail a total overhaul.

Wrong. Gone during or after year 3.
I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if it happens, but I don't think it will unless he bombs at recruiting.

Spurrier took the 4th string guy and set records. Meyer took an ill fit in Leak and made him a NC winner.

No one expected great things this year, and most would agree he’s a good coach. But this indicates how far removed from great he is.

I don’t disagree with your take on the other two.
Neither are close to today's Nebraska. Both had multiple AA/ NFL draft picks on that team and SOS SEC wasn't even as hard as the big10 today. If this was happening in 2002 you'd have a point but Nebraska has been terrible and their lack of recruiting and terrible hires have caught up to them.

This will help Frost in recruiting more than he’ll ever know! :lol2:

Nebraska concedes that ‘honestly, it’s not for everyone’ in new tourism tagline

Nebraska’s tourism commission announced Wednesday that the tagline for its new tourism campaign is “Nebraska: Honestly, it’s not for everyone.”

It’s like they’re recruiting for everyone else.

What ever happened to the SWC?

I think Frost is too good to stay at the bottom.

Frost was a Nebraska boy and had to do this

I will say I am presently surprised with the "new" more relaxed MULLEN. And all I want for CHRISTMAS is a 4*+ recruiting class..

The real question and it remains to be seen = What caliber coach is Frost really ?
How many top coaches have moved up and tanked. I'd say none. Look at Meyer's resume : what reason for him to do great at Bowling Green, or Utah? At UCF did Frost step into a team loaded to win, loaded by the prior HC ? I doubt any top HCs' careers include taking his team to their worst season in 65 years. Truth with time will win out.

The SWC imploded if I remember right because half the schools were cheating like crazy. A little before my time. Texas, A&M, Baylor and Texas Tech joined up with the big 8 to make the Big 12. Arky came to the SEC and the remaining schools fell into limbo other than TCU who’s the only one to have consistently climbed out. Before the merge so to speak the Big 8 was Oklahoma, OSU, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, KSU, Iowa St, Missouri.
