No, I knew we had no chance the last two times, dork. Don't insult me. Those were Mac teams.

At any rate, teams have bad days. They have turnovers. Crazy things happen in football games. UF has enough talent to win that game - it's not like we are Murray State.

Mullen will get a statue outside the stadium if he beats this Bama team with our talent.

Not to knock anyone, but when did Gator fans become such mincing pansies? Hell yes we want to play them. Not only do we want to play them, we want to take their women and drink their beer. What is wrong with you people?

Even if we lose to UGA but then beat FSU on our way to a bowl, I'll be happy. That is more than I thought we could accomplish this year. No matter what people say about Mullen but I think he has us trending in the right direction.
I agree with your post. The one thing we don't know about CDM is his ceiling. But from the first half of season it looks pretty tall. I doubt he's producing the best he has first half of this season then "duds" the next four or five years. I've seen that his staff can really get kids to play big boy football. The job they've done so far with a marginally talented OL. I don't mean to say bad things about our players, it's just that I can imagine what they would do with a 4 star OL. DL/LBs/DBs and STs look very good. Could we drop a few games second half, I suppose. Could we win all but lose to georgia and fsu, I suppose. But I think the program will improve incrementally as they have more time to develop the team and as they get some even better players here. I am impressed and CDM was the one candidate I did not want and he and his staff are doing so much better than I expected.

Guess we will see. This Bama team is machine-like on offense. The only weakness they’ve shown on defense is at db, and that may be more due to injuries than anything.
You never know what's going to happen. Your star QB is always a play away from the bench due to injury. Not hoping for it, but Tua could get hurt. That would increase our odds substantially, but we would still be big underdogs.

By far the best scenario would be for LSU to find a way to knock them off and make it to ATL.

If we go 11-1, we'll be in Atlanta. UK probably loses this week at Missouri, and probably loses to UGA.

Regardless, I'll say the same thing now that I said during the '15 and '16 seasons. Getting to Atlanta and having at least a chance to win the championship on the field is better than not getting there at all. If we get killed, so be it. That'll put us in the same company as just about every other team Bama will play this year. But in the end, at least we'll have won enough games to make it there a year after going 4-7.

I just want to end UGA's season. And I just want to extend our season another game! Pressure is on UGA, not UF.

How is it better, UGA is worse than last year, Tennessee is still a tire fire, USC has Muschamp, Vandy sucks Donkey balls (just ask Swamp Donkey), is UK really that much better or just feasting on a schitty East? Is it the East is better, or our perspection they might be because we look like an actual team?
We’re light years better.
UGA is exactly one game worse.
UK is light years better.
UT is slightly better.
Mizzou is better.
Vandy is Vandy.
Cawks suck.

What if we lost 21-17 and played them tough? The experience of playing in this game will be invaluable for next year when we can win it all.
Bingo. This isn't a Mac team, where there is no hope for the future. This Gator team is building something. Every game is valuable.

While the OP didn't focus on the CFP, that seemed the more interesting question buried in the OP. If we go 11-1, which would include beating the DWAGS and FSU, then we would likely be in the CFP. I know a fair amount needs to occur. Stated differently, if you knew could play Alabama in the CFP, and yes of course we would want to play them, but would you choose the CFP over the SEC Championship game. For recruiting and press perspective, that month of buildup is a lot better than 1 week when most non-Gators think you have no chance. I also think we may have a better shot after Tua takes a month off and perhaps loses a bit of rhythm or timing.

But, I'd still choose the SEC Championship game and hope to beat them twice. Florida vs Alabama is the most played SEC Championship game for a reason. We can't let the stain of Mac and Chump continue to linger. We belong in Atlanta.

Nor can you make a blanket statement on being in the SEC Title game helps your brand.

Since I started my comment with “I think,” most folks would conclude that I was providing my opinion, not a blanket statement and certainly not a guarantee. Sorry if my pumping rattled you. You okay, brotato chip?

It's fun to hear all the positive comments but...........

Smoke and mirrors!

Our talent level is nowhere near as good as UGA and Bamma. I think we can hang with either for 2/3 quarters but I think we will run out of gas in the end.

Pretty sure we’d be 0-7 right now if every game went by your predictions.

I am not one to back down from a fight. If we win out and get a shot at Bama, I am all for it. If MacNussy can go in there with two teams, Mullen sure as hell could go in and do better. You never know. Bama is a great team, but anything can happen on any given Saturday.

Let's just get after the LegHumpers first.
