Clemson QB to transfer to Missouri

So tired of being the type of program that dreams about other teams 2nd or 3rd string Qbs and LBs.

Don’t know about the LBs but absolutely agree on QBs. It’s just amazing how the bottom feeders of the SEC manage to find guys who can play the position while we keep getting guys who often act like it’s the first time they’ve ever played football.

How did you draw that conclusion? The question you should be asking is whether Fields (if he suddenly and magically became available) is better than any QB CURRENTLY on our roster.

I was responding to someone saying that Fields was perfect for Mullen's offense.

Fields is a capable runner but Mullinz seems to need a guy who can bash the between the tackles. He certainly didn't win anything with Fitzgerald, who couldn't throw, and wasn't really a power runner either.

In the ugaly game, it looked like DM used EJ on the edge, but can’t remember if the RB was the inside runner. I assume that was the case, but I don’t specifically remember. I would HOPE Dan is willing to make that adjustment if the QB and RB warrant the swap.

I agree, but he hasn't had any success doing that.

Granted these highlights are pretty limited but I like the way that Bryant steps up in the pocket and avoids the rush. Those who think that he cannot throw it accurately and long watch some of his downfield throws:

Magically, the grass is greener on the other side.

I don't care what he did at Clemson. He's better than anything we have on our roster.

Had he rode out his season I’d at least be open to consider. He flat out quit.

But God knows what they’ll do. Staff will have to decide what’s most important. I’m too old school maybe.

I can understand why some of us would be apprehensive about another transfer. But I think we could be a pretty solid team next year with Bryant and it would give EJ and JJ a year to get ready. He's limited in the pocket but he's better than anything we have now or will have next year. I have no problem with taken a proven qb for year. I honestly thought Frank's was turning corner earlier in the year.

I can't blame a kid who didn't wanna spend his last year of eligibility as a back up. He spent 3 years and waited his turn. Had he played another snap, he wouldnt have to play. These kids get promised the world when they're being recruited, can't blame him if he wants to preserve his career for another year.

I get what you’re saying and I know it’s not a decision made easily. But all you can really be promised is a fair opportunity. He got one. He was all in for his team....then he walks out. He’s one injury away from leading them to the NC game possibly.

How would that attitude play here? Franks is being excoriated by just a “rumor” that he smiled on the sideline after being pulled. Bryant actually quit after being pulled. I don’t know if this is the environment for him.

I scoffed at the notion earlier, but I now have to admit Bryant is in intriguing option. And so what if he isn't home grown? The era of the college free agent is here to stay. You do whatever you gotta do NOW to win.

You're missing the point.....if he didn't quit when he did, his college career would be OVER....done, no years of eligibility left, adios amigos. Him quitting was the only way for him to get a realistic shot starting elsewhere for his last year

He would be great in our offense with Tyrie / Van & Grimes.

He would give Emory and Jalon a year to learn.
