Petrino has always been a poor man's Leach. He has worse character and not as good of an offensive mind as Leach. And both are poor recruiters.

If I were Louisville I’d go after Brent Venables or Jeff Brohm.

It was his 4th year. The teams he beat were combined 62-75. He was non competitive in his two losses against LSU and Alabama. He was caught in one of the most amateur-hour, embarrassing stunts ever recorded in human history, revealing a host of character concerns, then showed up to the next game’s media day with a burned face, neck brace and Steven A Bagen shirt.

Other than that, I find nothing.

We had that damaged and fired USF head coach on Urban's staff. He was a great recruiter and a solid coach.

Nothing wrong with buying a damaged dude who may stay around a while. Especially when he recruits as well as DJ.

Thank you, Donk, although it's not technical. It's the actual definitions of two different words. The lack of understanding of the difference between these two words is one of my pet peeves with speakers of English with whom I've crossed paths over the last many years.

Don’t know if true, but I heard on local sports radio out of Jax that Petrino was 2nd choice if Urban fell through.

Maybe, it’s been awhile now. Just remember hearing the rumor. Maybe he was contacted, with Foley’s track record for picking coaches, I wouldn’t be surprised.
