After finally getting the chance to watch the game tonight, I actually thought that Franks ran the ball far better than he has all year. He still can't throw for shyt.

You mean he (Franks) put us behind against terrible teams several times by being ineffective at almost everything.

Im not a Franks hater or.lover but Ox is right, he didnt pass for much or run for much. I have no doubt that many guys on the roster including do two aren't playing quarterback could have done that at least as well.

As for Creyer playing freshman, even back in 08 or so Cryer said that there was no sense and redshirting kids who aren't going to be here. You just hurt yourself.

I remember Meyer playing several freshman, Pouncey’s, Tebow, Harvin, Hernandez, Haden, Jenkins, Will Hill, James, that I can name off the top of my head.

The guy just isn't terribly bright. Love the win, but his constant punk-ass antics really annoyed me.

You're the quarterback of the Florida Gators. Grow up.

Discuss.
Coach should have told him to stop that crap after the first score ! Ever since spurrier left Foley and Zook , Meyer , muschump and shark boy have made it us vs the fans . Mullen is the first coach that shows fans the love they deserve . Mullen was wrong to criticize the size of the crowd after the garbage performance of mizzu , but he corrected the damage after the South Carolina game . Franks is a punk and he probably will always be a punk like delrio . If he had run the ball like he did vs South Carolina every game and played with that kind of fire he wouldn't have gotten the criticism he deserved . That being said you don't boo college kids ! You can boo Millionaire coaches but not student athletes !

If you opine that while at a game it's okay to boo the coaches but not players, please thoroughly explain to me how to distinguish to whom the booing is directed.

Provide audio clips if necessary.

This "shush drama" is unnecessary. The fans shouted angrily at Franks for poor play. Franks rams a TD in and argumentively "yelled" back the only way it could register, by visual gestures. Heck, it was 30,000 to 1. There's even the likelihood that the harsh treatment of Franks rile him enough that he ran with the anger. Fans lit a fire in him. Franks won. We won. Want to be fussy? Fuss with him about staying angry.

There's no way to distinguish between the two. It's why it's probably better to just not boo. If nothing else, it's a bad look for recruits looking on.

Fans booed in the late 90's because of the dropoff after the DW years. It was just a different time. I'm certain that if Doug Johnson, and even Grossman, had played during the social media era, where random people can say whatever they want and constantly call you out on Twitter, there would've been a situation at some point.

I'd also disagree that Franks hasn't played with fire. The effort has been there, with maybe a handful of moments being the exception. He isn't playing very well, but that's not because he's not trying. I'll repeat again, he is a RSSoph, who was always thought to be a project, and is about 3/4 of the way through his first year of actual coaching. The problem is, he isn't taking over after a great stretch where fans are willing to patiently wait for the QB situation to works itself out. We're sitting on a decade of disastrous play and horrible losses. In many respects, whoever took the HC job and whoever got the starting nod at QB, they were going to be paying for some of the sins of their predecessors.

SEC Now is crucifying UF fans for their behavior! Starting to think I was almost alone. Pointed out what the booing and the empty stands do to recruiting. Also pointed out Frank's dramatic improvement.

Total nonsense. Recruits aren't turning down UF because fans boo.

Franks dramatic improvement? Him just fogging a mirror this year would have accomplished that. He's simply not good enough and never will be.

Sure Ox. A five star recruit choosing between us and Bama where the fans are cheering like crazy, would not be put off by standing on the sidelines and listening to the fans boo the team he is thinking about joining. If that makes sense to you, there's nothing to talk about.

I seem to recall you predicting doom if we fired that bastion of coaching excellence McSharkfvkk and claiming SEC Now and everyone in Mssippi thought we looked like fools.

There are no 5 stars choosing between us and Bammer. We are trying to steal 3 srars from Cowbell.

Back to Franks. Guess what, if you complete 40% or less of your passes that cross the line of scrimmage you are going to get booed. Sadly, yes, this year is an improvement on last year. Also sadly we have no one better on the roster. He can thanks his lucky stars bc he doesnt play on any other team in SEC or most power 5 teams.

IDGAF about Franks shushing the crowd. But then again Im not a pvssy about either thing, booing or shushing.

The one constant there is the "fans". Im guessing they have a lot to do with it. Lets face it. After SOS it was gonna be bad. You had the fan base all completely convinced they understood football now and that UF was entitled to the SEC each year and a visit to Atlanta in Dec, forever. Stevie made us all feel bad ass and football savants. That had a lot to do with the us against them sht.

i have liked EVERY post you made AR. There are others here. Lots of gator fans are still wrapped up in this decade of misery and Franks is the easy target.
Are we still whining about this?

And you know this because................
As you have agreed that Franks is very immature and if he fogged a mirror he had improved why is it hard to think a few or more than a few 17-18 yr olds might go into a stadium and think WTF, they boo their OWN players while they have been worshipped and praised in their HS environments.........

Embarrassing. This is big-time college football, not middle-schoolers out there doing their best.

If a recruit is a wussy enough to avoid a school because some fans booed, than we just dodged a bullet. He can go be a snowflake for someone else.

My own 2cents are this: after the game, Gator Nation SHOULD have been talking about the team getting the win and Franks having one of his better games as a Gator QB. He ran the ball with purpose and determination--arguably his most effective day rushing as a Gator--and didn't turn the ball over while making enough throws to keep the ball moving.

Were it not for his actions, the overwhelming majority of fans would have been praising his performance.

Instead, he reminded everyone why he is roundly disliked with his immaturity and poor decision making.
